The Scugog Sports Hall of Fame regognized the Blackstock Men's Hockey League in celebrating thier 25 years of sport at their induction ceremony and banquet on Aprill 21st, 2022. Pictured below is Gavin Cochrane long time sponsor and player accepting the award on behalf of the BMHL.
The Blackstock Mens Hockey League started with 20 guys playing shinny in 1994, and was organized by Neil Williams. By 1995 that number grew to four teams and then in 1996 six teams along with referees and scorekeepers. The league expanded to eight teams in 2000, which is currently the number of teams that make up the league today. Each team consists of ten skaters and one goalie, the majority of the membership consists of Scugog residents but we attract players from neighbouring townships as well. A number of local sponsors have supported the league over the years and in return the league has sponsored many local youth activities in Blackstock, Nestleton and Port Perry.
