The Belle Plaine Fastpitch Association's philosophy is to provide a structured, enjoyable and learned fastpitch experience for all participants.



For those girls interested in a more competitive level of play, the Belle Plaine Fastpitch Association sponsors a traveling league. It requires a greater commitment, in that each participant is expected to attend all practices, league games and weekend tournaments during the summer season. Emphasis is on skill development, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, and respect for others.

 Things you can expect for the season are:

• Skilled Coaching whether you have a paid coach or volunteer parent.  We will offer Coaches training prior to the season opening. 
• Practice usually starts in April(for 8U, 10U & 12U)  Practice and games start later for 14U & 16U due to School Ball.  League play may be once or twice a week (less for 8U) starting in May and continuing through June.  Plan on 2-3 weekend tournaments plus a State Qualifiers and a State Tournament. These tournaments will run through mid-July with the possibility of Nationals at the end of July.
• League games are generally fair play time.  We do need certain positions handled by players who have the ability such as Pitchers and Catchers.  We encourage all parents to help with their child's development.
• Tournaments are positioned more for winning, especially the State Qualifiers and State Tournament.  No child will sit out the whole game unless injured or for disciplinary reasons.
