2014 News & Notes

Prior to the 2013 season, Cooper Cleaning dropped out of the Baltimore Baseball League (BBL), after 12 years of participation in this outstanding league. Several veteran Cooper players joined the Chesapeake Marlins of the Chesapeake 25+ MSBL. After a great 2013 season, the Marlins will again be looking to make a strong showing in the CMSBL in 2014.

About the Team

The Cooper Cleaning Men's Semi-Pro Baseball Team is based in Baltimore, MD formerly played in the Baltimore Baseball League (BBL). Starting with the 2013 season, several Cooper veterans now play with the Chesapeake Marlins of the Anne Arundel County 25 and Over MSBL, whose season runs from mid-April through Labor Day.

In addition to our MSBL schedule, we also travel to play in several tournaments. In past years we've attended:
Reno Powell Memorial Day Tourney in Hagerstown, MD
4th of July Firecracker Tourney in Harrisburg, PA
Grover Frye Labor Day Tourney in Frederick, MD
Mid-Summer Classic in Chicago, IL
Berkshire Wood Bat Showdown in Reading, PA
Charlottesville, VA Labor Day and Memorial Day Tourneys

Team members vary in age from 25-50. Most of us are former college players. Tad Trias serves as Marlins manager, while Elliot DeGroot serves as GM, assistant coach, and player. George Cooper (owner of Cooper Cleaning) also shares in managerial responsibilities, in addition to being a DH.

Past records and highlights can be found under "Historical Records", a history of the team can be found under "Team History", and news/highlights from the prior year can be found under "Archived News/Highlights". You can also view team statistics by looking under "Team Stats".
