Weare Nationals to participate in the New England Independent Baseball League this summer in U19 Div
In attempt to provide John Stark players an option to keep playing over the summer, we will continue to provide a summer baseball option here in Weare. Individual skill building is crucial, but we also feel working together and building a strong team is key to developing a strong program as well. The team will have players from other schools as well, but we encourage Stark players to continuing their skill development over the summer, which are the most ideal months to be playing this great game.
The Weare Nationals are a summer baseball club based out of Weare, NH that participates in the New England Independent baseball League. The New England independent Baseball League was formed to offer high school aged players an alternative for playing competitive summer baseball. There is a large focus on skill development for all players and multi team clinics will be offered during the season. The regular regular season schedule will consist of 18 games and offer a multi game playoff. The
league is open to high school aged players 15 through 19. To start the season, the NEiBL will have an “all team” jamboree. The season runs June 17th through the first week of August. This league uses wood bats only.
The Nationals will be coached by John Stark Regional High School varsity coach, Dennis Pelletier, as well as John Stark JV head coach AJ Mucciaro and Stark assistant coach Tony Burnell. All 3 coaches are volunteering their time for this program. The team's games will be primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be scattered games on Sunday evenings, and potentially a few games on Saturday when necessary. Home games will be taking place at John Stark Regional High School in Weare, NH.
Team fees per player will be approximately $225. We plan on doing some very easy and simple fundraising that will hopefully bring down those costs significantly. Costs include league fees, insurance, uniforms, umpires and baseballs. Players are expected to purchase their own wooden bats, but we can buy in bulk as a team if you wish. We may purchase a couple composite team bats, but we will see. As you can see the $225 is significantly lower than the cost of AAU and other programs in the area.
We are looking to have a good sized roster, as we know in the summer months, that people have many things going on. This way, we can cover when people may be missing. Players participating in other summer baseball programs are welcomed to play as well, just as long as the notify us when they will be present.
If you would like to play or have any questions, please contact Coach Pelletier at 603-361-2961.

Contoocook Legion tryout schedule and potential Stark summer team
Contoocook Post #81 junior legion will be holding 2 separate try outs. Saturday May 10 and Saturday May 17th both days will be at 10am at Hopkinton High School. If your players were born on or after Jan. 1, 1997 they are eligible to play junior legion.
Since we have a JV game and also the community service project going on the 10th, May 17th may be the best option for Stark players.
Please email Coach Pelletier if you are interested. Coach will be part of the coaching staff if Stark players decide to play for this team.
We may also look into getting a John Stark team together for the New England Independent Baseball League (former Senior Babe Ruth, GSBA and AAU teams) that will play in a 19U division. If that league is full we may have a couple other options out there. We need a good amount of players to make that sort of commitment, so please get back to me on that. We will need to have a team fee for each player, and can reduce the cost with a very simple fundraiser I got back in March.
Please let coach Pelletier know if you are interested.
