2016 BOS Fall Season Team Registration

The Long Island Boys of Summer will run a Fall League on Long Island for ages 12U-90 through 18U. Fall schedule permits are finalized and we have as many fields in Nassau as we do in Suffolk for the Fall of 2016 -- less travel for everyone. The Fall League fee is the same as last year at $1,650.00 which includes the umpires fees and field rentals for the 12 game season and playoffs. The 12-game schedule begins the weekend of Sept 10-11 with Halloween weekend serving as a makeup weekend and the weekend of November 5-6 for playoffs and championship games.

Additionally, the Fall League will shut down for the Columbus Day weekend tournament as we have done in the past since almost all teams will be playing in it. To register for this, please use the following link: Columbus Day Tournament Registration Form

Rawlings Baseballs will be available for purchase at our registration meeting 7pm on Thursday September 1st at the PAL Stadium's Clubhouse right next to the field. If you have any questions please email us at liboysofsummer@gmail.com

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

*All teams should move up an age group for the Fall of 2016.

*12U-90 through 18U Field rentals and umpires fees are included in the $1,650.00 registration.

*Checks are made out to: Boys of Summer and mailed to 1200 Middle Country Road, Selden, NY 11784.

COACHES HELMETS AND PROPER ATTIRE

July 1, 2016 – 09:00 AM

ATTENTION ALL MANAGERS AND COACHES

COACHING HELMETS

We would like to reiterate what has been said at every league meeting in 2016. Coaches have to wear coaching helmets for safety reasons. You will not be permitted to coach on the bases if you do not wear a coaching helmet. Umpires have done a good job enforcing this rule all season but have had some pushback from some of you and some resistance which has caused poor relations at some fields. This should not be an issue -- you cannot coach without a helmet. Thanks for your cooperation.

COACHING ATTIRE

Another hot topic at the midway point of our season is the coaches attire. We agreed at the March meeting that all coaches must be properly dressed for games. A coaches shirt, team jersey or pullover are acceptable. Coaches shorts or baseball pants are also acceptable. NO denim or cutoff shorts of any kind. No slacks, work pants, capris, skirts, work boots or dress shoes can be worn while coaching the bases. This also should never be an issue to be dealt with at the field.
