#87 Jalen "Big Bacon" Monrrow will be in one of the biggest games of his carreer on Dec 31 2:30p. He and the Cincinatti Bearcats will face off against powerehouse Alabama. Some have overlooked Cincinatti, but as we all know we fight till the end. Jalen is a former Wildcat and Inner City Hoops player. He has grown into a force not to be reconned with. He is a huge defensive tackle on one of the top college football teams in the country. Lets show him lots of support and root for him on new years eve!

JV TAKE WIN IN 2021 BOWL GAME!
It was a hard week. Practice was cancelled for two days. Heads were down because of the intense weather. Our boys walked in on Saturday knowing what was at stake. They worked hard all year to make a name for themselves in the JR Bear community. The Vikings are know for bringing tough games on every level. The Vikings and Wildcats go back in battle since coach James had his first year at Lafollette back in 2002. Some battles were epic. This one had a 7 on 7 battle leading up until Saturday. The boys left the basement to the sound of "We Aint Never Scared"(Football version). They scored early and often. We took a lot of scars to make it through. Two players were sidelined and we had to hold it down. Traymon was at his normal self as well everyone on the 14 players we had present. Coaches from both sides started a minor war of words. Lafollette does not show that side at games. We take care of business on the field. WE CAME, WE SAW, WE DESTOYED!

MUM BOWL CHAMPS!
DESTINY
"I hated every minute of training, but I said 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of my life as a Champion'."
-Muhammed Ali
In early January after a lot of zoom workouts. A few kids and coaches weathered Sunday morning trips deep into the west suburbs for the "Throw It Deep" football camps. All kids were trying to be hopeful of a full season of football unlike the previous covid filled year. Then we cramped into our auditorium to play basketball, but always ended up playing Johnny come across and Football. Those throw it up in the corner moments were epic. Then the baseball season bore fruit. Kids who never played at Lafollette signed up and gave everyone a full over the top team of monsta' football players. We dominated everyone in 7 on 7's. Once in pads we challenged anybody who would play us. Over and over again we played and got better every single day. The players accepted their roles and the season started. We were a bit cocky by not respecting our opponents. They punched us right in the mouth with a score on opening drive. We no longer took the opposite side of the field for granted. These boys practiced alot and it showed. We knocked down powerehouse after powerhouse. This season boasted several firsts. 6 touchdowns and 300yards of offense by Carmen "Gilley" Cox set a Wildcat record. 30 is the most points by a Wildcat team in the Mum Bowl. The first JR. Bear team to have mascot at the MUM Bowl. and a few more.
The night was filled with westside cheer and love. The previous week had us playing against the entire southside. But this Friday they could not do anything to stop us. Spectacular catches by Jermel Mullins and the stingy DLine Kyris Kyles, Darnell "Papi" Owens, Kareem Morris & Dylan "Dill" Mosely made a very upsetting nite for the Ravens. The last time we played them they ate in the air with a few chain moving passes. John Stamps & Marcus Mullins shut that down with game changing interceptions that pretty much solidified the game for us. In a game destined to be for starting 11 players, we were able to allow all of our players to experience what it felt like to play in a real NFL stadium.
It may not have been 61,000 but our families, friends and Wildcat family came out in massive numbers. We appreciate every last one of you who helped us to get here and supported us along the way. We are the 2021 Champs because of you!
