Naples Cal Ripken & Naples Babe Ruth League is now accepting applications for the 2014 Fall Ball recreation format baseball season. All players from Collier County, Bonita Springs, Estero & South Ft. Myers can sign-up by clicking on the link above.
Individual player’s ages 4 through 15 will play in the league, in which individual players are placed on teams for the season. Players have a chance to improve their skills, gain experience, try out a new position and play with a group of different players in their age group.
Fall Ball is a developmental, fun league where players are encouraged to try positions not typically played.Pitchers can work on their craft, and players can prepare and improve for next season. The schedule is created so that other sports may also be played provided you realize that there will be some weeks where the time of a Saturday soccer/football game conflicts with a Fall Ball game. On these weeks, players will need to make a choice which sport to play. Our philosophy for Fall Ball is that it is OK to miss a game provided you inform your coach ahead of time. This is one reason we try to have larger rosters.
Age determination is based on the 2015 Cal Ripken/ Babe Ruth Baseball age, which is your child’s age as of April 30, 2015.
We anticipate games will begin Oct. 9, 2014 and run until the end of Dec. 6, 2014 with each team in the Minor, Major & Babe Ruth Leagues playing 2 games per week, a 12-14 game season. The T-ball & Rookie Leagues will play 1 game per week. Our schedule allows for players to play other sports in the fall.
A team placement assessment will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27th, from 9am to 12pm at Veterans Community Park fields for ages 8-15. Details and a schedule for the evaluations will be posted on the website in late September. Registration ends Oct. 2nd. Registrations accepted after that date must include a $50 late fee, and we can not guarantee a spot on a team. We also encourage certified parents to sign up to help coach these teams.
