2022 New North Texas USSSA Playing Rules

January 1, 2022

2022 NTX USSSA Rules

North Texas USSSA 2022 Playing Rules

1.)  Having a roster online is a requirement by USSSA. A team must have a minimum of nine (9) eligible players online BEFORE the bracket is published for
a USSSSA sanctioned event. Teams will be removed from scheduled brackets or be the visiting team if they do not have this minimum number online. This rule will go into effect
for tournaments beginning on March 1st, 2022.

2,) These are the new homerun rules for the 2022 season:
Program Homeruns   Once Limit Has Been Reached
Men's Major 16   Out
Men's Class AA 12   Out
Men's Class A 12   Out
Men's Class B 8   Out
Men's C 5   Out
Men's Class D 3   Out and inning ending
Men's Class E 1   Out and inning ending
Women's Class AA Unlimited   N/A
Women's Class A 6   Out
Women's Class B 4   Out
Women's Class C 2   Out and innng ending
Women's Class D 1   Out and inning ending
Women's Class E 0   Out and inning ending
Mixed Major Male 8   Out
Mixed Major Female Unlimited   N/A
Mixed B Male & Female 8   Out
Mixed C Male & Female 5   Out
Mixed D Male & Female 3   Out and inning ending
Mixed E Male & Female 1   Out and inning ending

(All homeruns and 4 base errors are hit and sit)

3. Mixed C, D and E teams shall only be allowed to have male players whose player rating (PRV) is the same or lower than the Mixed
team classification. Females players can play one level below their player rating (PRV). No player can play two levels below their player
rating (PRV) for the year.

(Example) A mixed D team can have male players whose player rating is D Elite or below. A male player C or higher is not eliible on
a Mixed D team. A Mixed D team can have female players that have a player rating (PRV) of C Elite or lower. A female B player would not
be able to play on a Mixed D team, because that would be two levels below their playing rating (PRV).

The player rating (PRV) of a player is now considered a part of USSSA's proprietary information and is now listed as a "protected view."
Any player can view his/her own player rating (PRV) and a coach can view the PRV of his players, once they're listed on his online roster.
We will look up a player's PRV if you provide the player's name and DOB as long as it's NOT during USSSA tournament play.

4.) Mixed teams will ONLY be allowed to play with either five (5) males and five (5) females or six (6) males and six (6) females.  A mixed
team can also play with five (5) females and four (4) males. In the five (5) female/four (4) male scenario, a female must lead off the batting
lineup and the tenth (10th) spot in the order is an automatic out.  If a fifth (5th) male shows up anytime during the game, he can be added
without further penalty.

4. The "middle rule" is no longer in effect for all classes. The umpire has the right to manager his/her game as they see fit regarding any
intentional acts that could lead to injury.

5.) The main criteria for classifying teams is the overall strength of the team both offensively and defensively, regardless of whether the
team has home run ability. The State Director and the National Classification has the right to move teams up or down depending upon their
playing ability.

6.) The pitcher must have one foot in contact with the pitching rubber in the Major, AA, A and B divisions. The pitcher may pitch from the
pitching plate or from the pitching area, an area the width of the plate and up to six (6) feet behind the pitcher's plate in the Men's C, D
and E divisions.

7.) Men's and Women's Major, AA, A follow the CUSSSA Point Classification. A Men's or Women's B team may carry one of the following
options on their roster: one (1) Major player OR two (2) Watch List/AA players OR one (1) Watch List /AA and one (1) A PRV player OR
three (3) A PRV players. Roster must be approved by State Director and NCC when using players above A level.

8.) The "bucket system" for bats will no longer be used during COVID-19. However, a bat can be inspected at any time by either an umpire or director. Bats
can be removed from play for any reason. Any bat removed from play will be returned to the owner after each game.

9.) A player must qualify to be eligible for reclassification for the following season by completing the following tasks:
a.) a player must be an approved player on a team's online roster by May 31th and remain on that roster until after the State tournament
b.) a player must play in a minimum of four (4) qualifying tournaments with that team to be eligible to reclassify
c.) a player's team MUST play in the current season's State tournament for the player to be eligible to reclassify
d) a player must sign his team's State tournament roster
e.) A player must download and complete the Individual Reclassification Petition and send to the State Director between the January 1 -
January 31 time period
f.) By completing ALL of the above requirements, the player is now ELIGIBLE for reclassification. The FINAL decision lies with the
National Classification Commiittee. Completing these tasks does NOT guarantee that the player will be reclassified. Once the Committee
makes a decision on an individual player's status, they will inform the State Director of that decision and he, in turn, will let the player know.

10.) A team requesting to reclassify that was bumped by the National Classification Committee for 2022 can complete the team
reclassification petition AFTER playing in a minimum of four (4) tournaments (250' tournaments are NOT included). The deadline to submit
the petition to the State Director is by the July 15th deadline. Only those players who were bumped the prior year with the team are
eligible to be reclassified and three of those players must remain as current year's "bumped" players. No additional "upper class" players
can be added to this newly-reclassified team. In addition, the newly reclassified team's online roster will be locked and all adds MUST go
through the State Director.

For State Tournament play, all roster will be "locked" prior to the start of the event and unlocked after the State tournament per request
of each coach. Team's going to the World Tournaments in 2021 will continue to have their online rosters locked.  They will NOT be frozen.

2022 Player Reclassification Procedure

January 1, 2022

2022 North Texas

Player Reclassification Requirements

1.)  A player must be added to a lower-classed team’s online roster PRIOR to May 1st of the current season

2.)  Once a player is added to a team’s online roster, a player must play in a minimum of six (6) qualifying tournaments with that team to be eligible to reclass.

3.)  During the time period that the player is on the team’s online roster, the player attempting to reclass may NOT be removed from the online roster until AFTER the State tournament. If a player is removed at any time after being added, he will no longer be eligible for reclassification.

4.)  The player must play in the State tournament and sign the State tournament roster to be eligible to reclass.

Once the player has completed ALL of these tasks, he must then login to his player account and click on the PRV tab on his player locker to complete and submit the player reclassification. There is a time period from January 1 to January 31 for a player to submit this request.

2022 Player Rating Value (PRV)

January 1, 2022

Beginning in 2019, the NCC developed the PRV (Player Rating Value) system that determines a player’s level of play. A player’s PRV includes the current season and the player’s PRIOR three-year history.

The NCC, when it bumps a team at the end of the season, will include each player who has ever been listed on that team’s roster history. If a player was listed on a team’s online roster for ANY period of time, that player, if the team is bumped, will be included and will have an NCC tag ‘attached’ to his name in the system. In addition, the NCC is ‘tagging’ players who have played in multiple levels of classifications at their highest level of play.

We will still allow players to reclass by playing in their respective State tournaments as a “bump” on a lower-classed team. Due to the PRV system now in place, there is one additional step that must be completed by you, the player, to maintain your ‘new’ classification.

Between January 1 of the current season (2022) and January 31, a player who has been ‘tagged’ with an NCC bump needs to complete the reclassification petition located on each player's profile prior to January 31.  And here’s a reminder … since this process will be taking place all over the country, the quicker your request is sent in, hopefully the faster your request will be reviewed and acted upon.  Don’t wait until February 1 to send in your request. If you wait until AFTER February 1, your reclassification request will NOT be honored by the NCC.
