2015 Final Registration & Tryouts


Funkstown American Legion Post 211 will be holding final registration for their Senior & Junior programs on Sunday March 29th from 3pm-6pm at the Legion Post in Funkstown Maryland located at 12 N. Westside Ave. Please bring a COPY of your Birth Certificate with you.

Tryouts for both teams will be Saturday April 11th at 5pm and Sunday April 12th at 1 pm. Tryouts will take place at South Hagerstown High School.  Both tryouts must be attended. If you cannot make one of these dates please notify us ASAP.

Both teams will play roughly a 30-35 game regular season schedule as well as a July 4th Tournament in Cumberland for the Junior Program and a Fathers Day weekend showcase in Frostburg for the Senior Program. We will also be eligible to quality for post season play depending on the outcome of our regular season.

We have also been in contact with several college coaches who will be in attendance at both our junior and senior games this summer.

Funkstown Baseball 2015

It is the goal of the Funkstown Legion Post #211 Coaching Staff to win our 3rd straight Western Maryland District Championship in 2015 as we look to improve on our 2nd place finish in the state of Maryland by reaching our 6th straight Maryland State Tournament, the coaching staff is looking to field a team of the 18 finest baseball players that Washington County has to offer. This year's schedule will be loaded with competitive teams. This year's roster will need to be filled with selfless, team oriented individuals, in order to achieve our goal. Winning is certainly contagious, as Funkstown looks to continue its winning tradition in 2015.  In teaching in-depth baseball fundamentals, Funkstown will be sure to exceed its success of the past, as the 2015 team will be a winner.
