Hopewell Post 339 captured its first Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship in program history on Sunday, August 6th at Fireman's Field in Purcellville, VA by defeating rival Ephrata, PA Post 429 by a score of 10-6. Pitcher Chase Fleming picked up the win for Post 339, and 2B/RF Chris DeClerico led the offense, going 2-4 with 3 RBI. Pitcher Zach Bregenzer was named Tournament MVP, after picking up 2 wins, one against Rockland, NY, and one against Ephrata, PA in the winner's bracket final. Post 339 will now advance to the program's first appearance in the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. Congrats to the entire Post 339 family!
Post 339 Captures First State Title in Program History!
On Thursday, July 27th, the Hopewell Post 339 baseball team captured its first NJ American Legion State Championship by defeating MCALL rival Hamilton Post 31 by a score of 12-2 at Moody Park. Catcher Luke Blair was named Tournament MVP by the NJ American Legion staff, and SS Will Karp was named NJ.com's Tournament MVP. Post 339 now advances to the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament in Purcellville, VA, where it will kick off play against the New York champion at 9:30am Wednesday, August 2nd. Congrats to the entire Post 339 family!
Team Dinner - 2017 Preview Monday 11/21
Hopewell Post 339 will be hosting a team dinner at Wildflowers on Monday, November 21st at 6:30pm.

Karp, DeClerico & Smiegocki win Honors at MCALL Banquet
Hopewell Post 339 had three of its players honored last night at the 2016 Mercer County American Legion League annual awards banquet.
Will Karp (SS/C) won the prestigious Bus Saidt Most Valuable Player award; the first time a Hopewell Post 339 player has ever won the award.
Chris DeClerico (2B) won the Fred Schmitt Memorial RBI Champion Award, shared with Zack Wright of Bordentown Post 26. Chris led the league with 21 RBI.
Jim Smiegocki (P/1B) won the team sportsmanship award for Post 339, as well as the Warren C. Lewis Memorial Scholarship of $1,000. This is the second consecutive year a Post 339 player has won the scholarship in honor of our former post chairman.
Will Karp will be attending Haverford College in the Fall, while Chris DeClerico will be attending Lebanon Valley College.
Jim Smiegocki just completed his freshman year at Johnson & Wales University.

Hopewell Post 339 Captures First District Title
On Tuesday, July 19th, Hopewell Post 339 defeated six-time defending New Jersey Legion Champion, Brooklawn Post 72, by a score of 6-2, to clinch its first District playoff title in program history. Zach Bregenzer pitched 7 outstanding innings, while Josh DeDufour dominated the 8th and 9th innings to close out the game. Spectacular defensive plays were made by 3B Nick Psomaras and C Will Karp.
Post 339 has now set a program record for wins, with an overall standing of 30-6. The program has also clinched its second consecutive berth into the NJ Final 8 State Tournament.
Hopewell will play the runner-up from the District 1 Tournament on Saturday, July 23rd, at 5pm at Moody Park.

Ephrata Tournament Info
Our game times for the Ephrata Tournament are as follows:
Friday 6/24: vs. Shillington 3:45pm
Saturday 6/25: vs. Falls 1:30pm, vs. Penn Manor 6pm
Sunday 6/26: TBA based on record, consolation game at 10am, 12:30pm or 3pm, Championship at 5:30pm
This is a WOOD BAT tournament.
Admission will be charged ($5 for adults, $3 for children)
Games are a 2 hour time limit. If a game is not completed, it will go to the last completed inning. If the game is in the bottom of an inning at the 2 hour mark, it will be completed.

Post 339 Invited to 2nd Annual Clash of Titans Tournament
The Hopewell Post 339 baseball team has been invited to the 2nd Annual Clash of Titans Tournament to be held on June 24th - 26th in Ephrata, PA. The 8-team field includes 2 State Champions for 2015 in Downingtown, PA and Funkstown, MD, and also includes 2 State Finalists from 2015 in Uniontown, PA and Post 339.
Post 339's Cameron Cane selected to NJ Final 8 All-Tournament Team
Hopewell Post 339's Cameron Cane (#25, 1B, OF) was selected by Prep Baseball Report - New Jersey as a member of the 2015 NJ Final 8 All-Tournament Team. Cameron was selected as an outfielder, and was 1 of only 3 players selected from the entire Mercer County American Legion League.
Cam led Post 339 in RBI this year with 29 in 33 games, hit .339, and led the team in slugging percentage at .518.
Cam was also awarded the Hap Puca Rookie of the Year Award at this year's MCALL awards banquet.

Post 339's Ben Schragger wins NJ American Legion Scholarship
Hopewell Post 339's Ben Schragger (#8, Pitcher, SS, 3B) has been selected as the Diamond Sports American Legion Baseball Scholarship winner for New Jersey. The scholarship award is for $500. Ben's application is now forwarded to the National American Legion Baseball Scholarship Committee for further review. If selected from the Mid-Atlantic Region, Ben can be awarded $2,500, and if selected Captain for the entire nation, can receive $5,000. National selections will be completed by the end of the Legion World Series.
Ben graduated from Hopewell Valley Central High School in June 2015, and he will be attending Rice University this Fall. Ben has earned a walk-on spot as a pitcher for Rice's nationally ranked baseball team.

Post 339 Hosts Inaugural Warren C. Lewis Memorial Golf Outing
The Hopewell Post 339 Baseball Team is proud to announce our hosting of the Inaugural Warren C. Lewis Memorial Golf Outing. This event will serve as the primary fundraiser for the Post 339 program heading into the 2016 season.
The tournament will take place on Tuesday, October 13th at Gambler Ridge Golf Club in Cream Ridge, NJ.

Post 339's Ben Schragger Earns Mid-Atlantic Regional Scholarship
Hopewell Post 339's Ben Schragger (#8, Pitcher, SS, 3B) has been selected as the Diamond Sports American Legion Baseball Scholarship winner for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Ben was chosen out of all applications from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The scholarship award is for $2,500. Ben was previously selected as the New Jersey recipient by the National American Legion Baseball Scholarship Committee.
