PROGRAM VISION AND ACTION PLAN

The Revolution Baseball of Lower Merion 15U travel baseball program will be entering its second season in 2017- 2018.  Under the professional leadership of a highly accomplished and professional Head Coach and Assistant Coach, our program is designed to bring each player to a significantly higher level of individual skill while learning the nuances of how to play as a cohesive team.  Unlike many other travel teams, we include intensive, personalized instruction by the Head Coach as an integral part of our program without charging exorbitant extra fees.  These sessions allow the coaching staff to become more involved in player development and extend a seamless carryover between individual instruction and team workouts.

Our team will be comprised of talented and skilled players who seek a baseball experience that emphasizes good sportsmanship, competitive play and a supportive environment.  We value families that want to be part of a ‘baseball community’ and support our players and team, while leaving all on-field decisions and play to the coaching staff.  We consider developing a positive vibe for players and families and having fun enjoying our nation’s pastime to be of paramount importance.

We expect that our players will be on their school’s baseball team.  Practices will be set by the coaching staff and every effort will be made not to conflict with school games and practices that are scheduled in advance.  Revolution Baseball of Lower Merion values commitment to our program.  Although we prefer that players make our team their only travel experience, we will consider players who also are part of another baseball program and want to take part in the Revolution as well.

In the spirit of insuring that players develop the proper skills to maximize performance and minimize the potential of injury, we strongly request that all players who want to pitch engage in private lessons with a knowledgeable pitching coach.  The Head Coach will maintain a list of pitching coaches for you to consider.  Pitching lessons at this level require individualized attention and are not part of the team program.  Our coaching staff will cover drills for pitchers to field their position and teach pitchers how to approach hitters in specific situations by discussing pitch selection and location, but will not focus on arm motion, grip, etc.

Competitive play will include six tournaments between April and early July.  Every effort will be made to factor in the personal schedules of players on the roster when selecting the tournaments in order to minimize known conflicts.
