April 5-6 ALL TBI TEAMS WERE IN ACTION THIS PAST WEEKEND.
CLEARWATER CHALLENGE RECAP
Showing that they are still a young team on the rise, the TBI 6th continue to improve on their team play. With ALL players contributing, the team played great against their bracket competition and advanced to the finals. After a highly contested championship game, they placed as 2014 CBC Runner up. Congratulations to the young ladies who make up the foundation of TBI. 6th graders recorded noticeable wins against East Tampa Thunder and Next Level Hoops. Continue to make YOUR Organization PROUD. They finished the tournament with a 3-2 record.
TBI 7th played well but came up short. Losing a tough game to the East Tampa Thunder by 5 and another to the Ocala Lightning our 7th graders missed the championship game for the first time in 6 tournaments. However, they manage to win their last game of the tournament against a very tough Rampage Elite team finishing the the tourney with a 1-2 record Great job ladies!
8th Grade Jess
This team played outstanding blowing away their competition in pool play by an average of 28 points. 8th graders were able to beat 2 East Tampa Thunder Teams and Florida Lady Suns team to advance to their 2nd championship of the year. At the end they came up short to Next Level Hoops but they proved they belong and can beat some tough competition. *th graders finished with a 4-1 record.
8th Grade Kelsey
This team did not miss a beat. After finishing last year with an overall record of 54-8, Coach Kelsey and her 8th grade squad is looking to compete in mostly showcase events wanting to compete against the best competition in the nation. They ended the showcase with wins against the CC Hoops and Miami Suns. They also lost a close game against the Essence. They finished with a 2-2 record. Great job ladies!
These young ladies competed at a very high level during their first live competition of the year. They were able to beat a tough Miami Suns team but dropped some competitive games to the Florida Future and the G Nation Orange. Overall, they ended the showcase with an overall record of 1-3 against the very best competition the State of Florida can offer. Lot's of talent on this team. Keep working ladies!
Our 10th grade team lost all of their games finishing the weekend with an 0-4 record. But what is exiting is that they competed with some of the best competition in the nation that included Miami Suns Larkins, Essence Black, and a very tough Florida Future 2016 team. They proved they can compete with the best competition. This team improved and played with a lot of hart and passion. We are looking foreard to a great season.
