All games are cancelled for Monday, June 30, due to the rain and the field conditions. 

All games are cancelled for tonight, Thursday, June 26, due to field conditions and continued risk of thunderstorms throughout the evening. We will work with the coaches to find makeup dates. 

Tonight's Minors game between Rain Brothers and Purdybilt has been cancelled due to the heat and the storms in the area. We will find a date to reschedule. 

The games for Minors and Intermediate are cancelled for tonight (Monday, June 23) due to the heat. The Majors game for tonight will be played tonight but will be pushed back for an 8:15 p.m. start time under the lights.

Minors schedule change

Tonight's Minors game between Corner Cone and Rain Brothers will be rescheduled for this Thursday, June 26, at 6:15 p.m.

Intermediate schedule changes

Tonight's Intermediate game between Sunrise Cafe and Trail Tavern will be rescheduled for tomorrow evening, June 24, with a 7:50 p.m. start time on the baseball field under the lights.

In addition, Wednesday's Intermediate game between Sunrise Cafe and Bentino's Pizza will be moved to Thursday, June 26, at 6:15 p.m.

Regarding the forecasted heat, here's how we'll make decisions about games and practices:

• If the heat index is 95 degrees or above, we will not play or practice
• For practices, if the heat index is expected to be 95 or above, we will usually cancel practice.

For games, we have two options, which are:

• Cancelling the game and rescheduling
• Pushing the start time back

Look for updates here on the website and in the group text threads:

• For evening games, we'll make a decision about the heat by 4 p.m.
• For Saturday morning games, we'll make a decision about heat by 8 p.m. Friday night

The plans may be different between each division depending on field conditions and our ability to use the lights on a given evening.

All games are cancelled for tonight, Wednesday, June 18. We have standing water on all three fields from the recent rain. We have a few games to reschedule in minors and intermediate now. We will do our best to find new times for the games and let you know about the updated schedule ASAP.

Tonight's minors game between Purdybilt and Corner Cone is canceled due to field conditions. We got too much rain this afternoon and it hasn't dried out. We will reschedule this game to a date TBD. We'll share the new schedule ASAP. 

The intermediate game between Bentino's Pizza and Ye Old Trail Tavern is ON for this morning. The field is in good shape after the overnight rain. See you at the fields!

Unforunately the fields did not dry out out today after the weekend rain. 

The Minors and Intermediate games are cancelled this morning due to the field conditions after the rain last night. Both games will be rescheduled. Your coaches will let you know the new date and time. 

The 12:30 pm Majors practice is also cancelled for today. 

The Majors game is ON for tonight.

There is still a chance of a popup thunderstorm. As a precaution, please have a plan to leave the field quickly if needed. And if you see lightning or hear thunder while at the fields, let a coach or umpire know ASAP. 

Those of us on the field are sometimes caught up in the game and are often the last to notice!

Here's the plan for tonight for both Minors and intermediate:

Minors: Purdybilt vs. Rain Brothers scrimmage may be converted to a "grass-only" practice

The Minors field is wet but it's borderline. 

Our best guess is that the infield will not quite be dried out by the time of the scrimmage, but we'll make the final call at game time. 

If we aren't able to play the scrimmage, we'll convert the scrimmage into a "grass only" practice for both teams. 

Intermediate: Bentino's Pizza vs. Sunrise Cafe scrimmage will play on the baseball field

Weather/field conditions update for tonight: We are going to try to play tonight's scrimmage on the baseball field. (The softball field is too wet).

The baseball field is less wet and may be playable by game time. If not, we'll convert the scrimmage into a "grass only" practice for both teams. 

We'll play some baseball one way or another!

Majors practice is cancelled for tonight (Tuesday, May 25) due to the rain. Our next Majors event will be our opening scrimmage on Thursday. Scrimmage start time is 6:15 p.m. Please be at the field ready to warm up 30 minutes before the scrimmage start time. See you Thursday!

Join us for a season of summer recreational baseball in Yellow Springs!

Here's what you need to know for the 2025 season:

Ages

Yellow Springs Youth Baseball is a recreational coed league for all children ages 7-15.

The objective of YSYB is to foster interest in baseball and promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority. 

For 2025, we will have three divisions:

• Majors (15U)
• Intermediate (12U)
• Minors (9U)

Note the age groups have changed this year:

• Majors division is now open to 15 year olds and will play on a full-sized field.
• Intermediate is for ages 10-12 and will play with official Little League Rules.

For questions age cutoffs and which division your player can participate in, please see our updated Age and Play Up/Play Down policies.

Location

All games and practices are held at Gaunt Park in Yellow Springs.

Fees and Early Bird Discount

• Fees: $50 per player. Parents may pay online or by cash or check at in-person registration.
• Early Bird discount: Register before Sunday, March 23, 2025, and receive a $10 discount per player.
• Late registration: An additional $10 fee will apply to registrations after April 28, 2025.
• Scholarships: A limited number of scholarships are available. If you need a scholarship, please select the “scholarship” option during registration.
