Safety Officer

The BLL Safety Officer shall:

● Report into the 2nd Vice President
● Be responsible for creating awareness, through education and information of the opportunities to provide a safer environment for youngsters and all participants of Little League International.
● Develop and implement a plan for increasing safety of activities, equipment and facilities through education, compliance, and reporting.
● Facilitate meetings and distribute safety information among participants including players, managers, coaches, umpires, League officials, parents, guardians and other volunteers.
● Define a process to assure that incidents are recorded, information is sent to League/District and National Offices and follow up information on medical and other data is forwarded as available.
● Frequently inspect all playing areas for holes, damage, glass and other foreign objects.
● Make certain all fences, screens and dugouts are in safe condition.
● Periodically inspect the stand or bleachers
● Have arrangements in place in advance of all games and practices for emergency medical services.
● Arrange with BLL League President an annual training meeting for managers and coaches by implementing Little League?s ?Prevention and Emergency Management Program.?
● Handle all accident claims promptly and shall maintain all records pertaining to all injuries and to include any claims for liability.
● Ensure that the facility and Members are safe from health, safety, and security threats.
