Coach McShane first joined the staff in 2009. He took over the D-Line responsibilities in 2010 and was part of a defensive coaching staff that led the area in fewest yards allowed and fewest points allowed. He will take the O-Line responsibilities as well in 2012. Coach McShane has also coached Varsity softball at St. Eds since 2008 and helped lead the 2011 softball team to a sectional final appearance.

Coach McShane came to the St. Edward coaching family with 8 years of football coaching experience at the youth level with the Streamwood Falcons. His teams qualified for the playoffs in every season making a BGYFL super bowl appearance once and Semi-Final game on 2 other occasions. He has also coached Travel Softball since 2001. Twice his softball teams have finished in the top 20 in National tournaments.

Coach McShane played his youth football at St. Mary’s in Buffalo Grove and finished his playing career at Carmel High School in Mundelein.

For Coach McShane, Greenwave football is a family affair. His wife Noel can be found at all the Greenwave football games. All 3 children have ties to the football Program. His daughter Tarah (class of 2011) as a 2 year water girl, son Sean (class of 2013) as a 4 year football player, and daughter Shannon (class of 2015) as a member of the cheer squad.
