Kenny "Jo-Jo" Smith

With the encouragement of the community Coach Jo-Jo started Ladies First Akron Inc recreational ball in 2008. in 2010 Ladies First offered travel opportunities and the organization continues to grow and support our Akron area lady ball players. Jo-Jo played high school basketball at Buchtel high school graduating in the year "2000" and accepted a scholarship to play Div II basketball at Miles college a Historically Black College in Birmingham, AL. Jo-Jo played 4 seasons while earning his B.A. in Communications (05). After college Jo-Jo was blessed with the opportunity to play professionally and travel the world starting with the IBL in 2007 (Cuyahoga Falls Cougars) and traveling and playing in South America (Chile, Argentina and Bolivia) along with the United Arab Emrates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi). Currently Jo-Jo is a school teacher (Buchtel High School), coach and community leader, involved in many recreational activities at Ed Davis and Summit Lake Community Centers. Jo-Jo earned his Masters degree in 2011 from the University of Akron.
