Born and raised in Hueytown, Alabama, Jason graduated from the Alabama School of Fine Arts in 2002 where he was a basketball and track athlete. Jason also played AAU basketball for the Alabama I.C.E. and the Alabama Road Runners from ages 9 – 16. In the summer of 2002 he was accepted to the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut and played DIII Varsity basketball. Jason started every game for the Coast Guard Bears as a freshman and sophomore. Due to a serious knee injury, he missed his Junior season. He was named Captain for his Junior and Senior years. In the spring of 2006, Jason graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Operations Research and Computer Analysis.

Jason is also known in the Hueytown, AL community and the New London, CT from his involvement in coaching and officiating basketball games. His coaching resume includes 6 years of youth recreation basketball (98-02, 04-06), Jason has also officiated middle school basketball (06-08)during his time being stationed in Kodiak, AK. Jason enjoys teaching sports (especially basketball) because of the life lessons that can be learned and applied while playing the game. He likes being active and enjoys the variety of people he has met and made friends with because of the sports and the military.
