The president/team sponsor’s role will be to serve as the liaison for the Parks Department regarding the use of the general-purpose sports field at Carlin Park as the Sharks rugby field during the November 1 through April 30 season. The team sponsor will ensure that the field is maintained, watered, and bare spots repaired. He will see that the storage building is maintained and kept secure.

The president/team sponsor will serve as a mentor to the players and an advisor to them on the best way to leverage their rugby experience for selecting a college and getting scholarship funds.

The president will make the arrangements for the Sharks varsity matches to be filmed and available on the Internet for the coaches’ analysis and the players’ viewing. He will also make sure the Sharks have the proper equipment, such as:

• High-quality goalposts
• Goalpost pads
• Spectator fences
• Field lining equipment
• Field flags
• Traffic cones
• Scrum sled

The team sponsor will also serve as an advisor to the coaches, when asked, and as a liaison with the FYRU.
