Hank King
Freshman Head Coach
Hank King, graduate of Upper Merion High School class of 1962 Played all varsity sports Football, Basketball, Baseball as a sophomore he signed a professional baseball contract with the Baltimore Orioles and was fortunate to play for Earl Weaver, Cal Ripken Sr. Billy DeMars for 5 years until arm injury ended career.
Hank then started working for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1975 was the 6th coach on the bench handled the defensive charts for 9 years. In 1983 became the Phillies Advance Scout looking at the Phillies next opponents, his job was to pick flaws from the other teams anything for a Phillies advantage.
In 2009 I was honored in Los Angles as the national scout of the year. Pat Gillick was my presenter. Others receiving awards that night were George Brett, Goose Gossage and Whitey Herzog. It was a tremendous honor.
Hank has WORLD SERIES rings from 1980 1983-1993-2009-2010, 25 years service diamond ring. Inducted into Upper Merion Wall of Fame 1995. Hank was inducted into Montgomery county Hall of fame 2013.
Hank is married to his lovely wife of 35 years Carol Ann who raised 3 children and 5 poodles,presently Hammer is the lone one left.
