2064123353
Melanie Vertrees was a 3-sport Varsity athlete, growing up in Kent, WA. She won the state heptathlon title in 2009 and was named Washington State Female of the Year. After high school, Coach Mel went on to run at the University of Oregon (where she holds the number 6 spot for all time best marks in the women's high jump).
Coach Mel began her coaching career after college at Lake Oswego High School in Oregon. She moved back to Eugene to get her Masters in Education in 2014, where she coached for Churchill High School for two years. Upon graduating with her M.ED, Coach Mel received the head coach position at Newport High School in Bellevue, WA in 2016.
Happy to return to her roots, Melanie Vertrees has built an elite track club on the Eastside for high school athletes. The team hopes to contribute to college scholarships, strong work ethic and give young athletes a love for the world of track and field.
