Founder of the Texas Hurricanes, and serving in a dual role as CEO and General Manager, has a degree in Criminal Justice and currently works in higher education and has been in the education field for the past 16 years. Coach Barbara Davis has received recognition for her coaching and is a candidate for “Women of Distinction” for Women of Distinction Magazine, recognition with the International Women’s Leadership Association, 2003 youth coaching award and years of service award with Richland College.

From 2010-2012, Ms. Davis arranged professional exhibition and exposure basketball overseas for men and women teams, she was head coach the Texas Hurricanes Pro-Minor Basketball Team in Dallas in which she founded, coached her team in competition and exhibition games with teams in other professional leagues, like UBA, UBL TPBL and ABA. Coach Davis founded the Greater Dallas Southern Basketball Men’s Semi-Pro league in Dallas, TX. Ms. Davis has also traveled with her team to tournaments, like Tournament of Stars in Lake Charles, where many ex-NBA players compete in the summer.

In her many years of coaching, Coach Davis was also the Assistant Coach Dallas for Diesels Women’s Semi Pro Basketball Team in 2005. She coached youth basketball, where her bottom seed girls’ team took home 3rd place in2004. In 2003 she coached girls’ basketball 14U and girls’ volleyball 14U and middle school volleyball and basketball in Florida.

Although Ms. Davis has many years in education and a degree in criminal justice her passion for enhancing opportunities for young men, women and the youth of the greater Dallas area is readily seen on a day to day basis.
