Damon Bird

Assistant Coach

Coach Bird is entering his 10th year of coaching and his second year as an Assistant Baseball Coach at MacArthur High School. He is also Freshman Football Head Coach and teaches Mathematics.

Coach Bird received his Bachelors in Mathematics-Secondary Education Degree from Colorado Mesa University in 1993.

Prior to joining the staff at MacArthur, Coach Bird taught and coached football and track at Arlington Lamar for 1 year. Coach Bird’s previous coaching experience was in Colorado in the 90’s before serving as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army for 18 years.

Coach Bird has a long baseball history either playing or coaching at various levels since age 10. His father, Gary Bird, was the Head Baseball Coach at Glenwood Springs High School in Colorado for 26 years and established a great foundation for his coaching endeavors.

Coach Bird is married to his lovely wife Diana, has four children, Taylor is 29, Caitlyn is 27, Audrey is 24 and Ayden is 18. Those that live in the area will be proud supporters of Cardinal Baseball, including our 2 year grand-daughter, Finley.

Coach Bird is fired up for the 2020 baseball season and is looking forward to contributing to MacArthur Baseball’s success.
