Herman ran varsity track all four years and played at the varsity level for three years in each of basketball and football. He finished his high school career by receiving All County and All South Jersey honors in both basketball and track. In football, he was honored by being named to the All State team and being ranked a Top Five wide receiver in the State. He continued his football career, going on to play three years in the Arena Football League and, shortly after that, he began coaching. He spent four years at a local middle school, coaching both basketball and track and field for boys and girls. He later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he started training athletes of all ages in a variety of sports.
