Ages: 6-8
Rookies 8U Travel Babe Ruth (Spring)
Entry level of softball for girls aged 6-8, this division uses coaches to pitch which allows for more action in the field. The Player is starting to learn the game and rules of softball. All positions will begin to be developed at this level including pitching and catching. Players use an 11" safety ball which is easier for the younger players to handle. The focus of Rookie League is to prepare each player to move on to the Minor Leagues.
Softball participates in Babe Ruth North Central Mass Softball Regional League.
Regular season 1 games per week are held on Saturdays starting at either 9 am or 12pm Starting in late April and season ending in mid-June. Make-up games Tuesday nights 6pm.
Practices will be held one day per week starting in April thru the end of the season. The days of the practices are the decision of the head coach and can fluctuate throughout the season.
Home games are played at Gilman-Waite Park
Away games will be played in either Ashburnham, Fitchburg, Gardner, Hubbardston, or Westminster, Athol/Orange.
Players will need to provide their own glove (required), cleats (required), Black sliding pants (required), Belt and Field Mask (required).

Possible First Game, Picture Day held in end of April on a Saturday TBA.
