ONLY IN CAL-RIPKEN BASEBALL
Our Major Divison plays in the 50/70 Division. What that means is that the traditonal mound of 46ft is now at 50ft. The traditional 60ft bases are now at 70ft. In this divison baserunners are allowed to take leads and pitchers must be aware of baserunners and balks.
What we have learned is that it is a difficult transition going from a traditional 46ft mound to the 60'6" mound of middle school or senior league. Cal-Ripken Baseball moved to these diminsions to help transition players in a more managable increment.
Players in this division may not turn 13 before May 1st. Teams play 9 players in the field and a game last 6 innings. There is a 105 minute time limit for all games.
Players in this division are typically 11-12 years old but may range in age from 9-12 years old based upon experience and players ability.
Players in this age group may be eligible for all-stars. We have traditionally fielded an 11U and 12U team.
