Serving the youth of Hyde Park & Roslindale ages 7-15
Our organization’s mission and history:
The Hyde Park Pop Warner Cowboys has been in existence for approximately 30 years serving the communities of Hyde Park and Roslindale and we are a 501(c) nonprofit organization that is run by volunteers and parents from the community. This out of school time activity provides a safe and structured environment that promotes and fosters teamwork, physical activity as well as camaraderie to 174 youth. We endeavor to teach the youth of our organization the basics of football, cheerleading, teamwork and to firmly implant the ideas of sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty and integrity. It is the belief of this organization that these young athletes, through their participation in the sport of football and cheerleading, will develop the qualities of leadership and self- respect. It is these qualities we hope will contribute to their personal growth as well as the growth of the communities that we represent.
The total number of youth football players and spirit participants served by your association:
The Hyde Park Pop Warner program currently serves 174 youth.
General socioeconomic demographics of the youth football and/or spirit participants served by your association.
We have 174 participants of various descents’ African-American, Caucasian and Hispanic ranging from ages of 7 through 15 years. We have children in our organization with different levels of asthma, eye conditions, learning disabilities as well as physical conditions that partially inhibits their abilities. No child is turned away due to physical inabilities as long as they are cleared by their primary care physician to participate.
