Pitchers shall not deliver more than 95 pitches in the same game or on the same day.
Exception: If the pitcher reaches the maximum pitch count limit while facing a batter, the
pitcher may continue to pitch until the batter reaches base safely or is put out.
The pitch count will be recorded at the time a pitcher is removed from the mound. If a
pitcher reached any of the count limits in the middle of an at bat and he/she is allowed to
continue to pitch, the count when he/she is removed from the mound will be their final pitch
count. Only exception is the max limit as noted above.
Manager, coaches or scorekeepers will compare pitch counts after each inning and have
the pitcher?s count recorded in each scorebook. In the case of a disagreement in pitch
count per inning an average of the two count numbers will be used. Pitch count will be
rounded up if needed. Umpires should not be expected to mediate any pitch count
differences.
Westfield Babe Ruth will recognize pitches thrown during high school or in any other
games. For rest calculations innings pitched in any high school or other games a pitch
count of 15 pitches per inning will be used to calculate any rest requirements unless a
specific pitch count is provided to the league by a coach.
All Managers/Coaches will honor any communicated pitching limitations from a high school
coach.
Any pitches thrown in a game suspended by weather, darkness or other causes and
resumed the following calendar day, the pitcher at the time the game was halted may
continue to pitch to the extent of his/her eligibility.
Any pitches thrown in a game suspended by weather, darkness or other causes should
count towards the pitcher?s rest day requirements, even if the game is resumed the
following day. A pitcher?s days of rest should be counted and implemented based on the
suspended game, not resumed from where the game was halted. A pitcher may pitch in
the continuation of the game if their days of rest permit.
