Eureka JFL Coaches Code of Ethics

Mission Statement:

To instill a love and passion for the game of football. Develop fundamentals that allow for career long success and create teammates for life. It is our coaching staff’s goal to provide a positive learning environment that develops a
passion for football. We will provide the necessary skills and foundation that can grow
into a successful athletic career. We will strive to provide quality instruction that
focuses on the fundamentals. Through collaboration with parents, players, fellow
coaches and community we will promote successful teams at all levels.

I hereby pledge to uphold the promises of Eureka JFL Program by following the coaches’
code of ethics.

1. I, as a coach, know the rules and skills of youth football.
2. I will support all the head coaches decision at all levels of the program to provide
a positive environment for the kids.
3. I will do my very best to provide a safe environment for my players.
4. I will insure that learning football will be fun.
5. I promise to keep winning and losing in perspective.
6. I will be sensitive to the emotions and different learning styles of my players.
7. I will build players up, not put them down.
8. I will not seek personal recognition at the expense of my players.
9. I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and good sportsmanship to all
my players
10. I will remember that I am a youth coach, and that the game is for children and
not adults.
11. I understand this code of ethics and will abide by them. My failure to uphold
these rules will result in the revocation or suspension of my coaching
responsibilities.

Procedure for handling Code of Ethics violations
1. Meeting with HR Director ( Warning)
2. Meeting with HR Director and all coaches ( Suspension 1 to 3 games)
3. Meeting with JFL Board of Directors ( Possible Full Suspension)

Any gross violations will result in immediate Board action.
