Playing Up Regulations

1. Teams can only call up to get their roster to nine (9) players.
2. Only 12 year olds can play up to the Pony League and 10 year olds to the National League Age Exception: Must be approved by the Director of Baseball Operations
3. Rookie League cannot play up to the American League without prior approval from the Director of Baseball Operations
4. Each player must play the league minimum number of innings.
5. Callup players cannot play more innings than a regular roster player.
6. A manager in need of a callup may select from any team in the league below.
7. The callup player cannot pitch or catch.
8. The callup player wears their own uniform.
9. Sock color rule is waived for the callup player.
10. Current team commitment takes priority when a scheduling conflict occurs.
11. Parents or guardians must sign the play up liability waiver for their child to play up. This is available online and must be completed before the player can play up.
12. Any violation of these regulations will result in a forfeit for the offending team.
13. The manager who calls up a player must make the opposing manager and the umpire aware of callups during ground rules.
14. All call up players must abide by the league specific rules which includes equipment.


In consideration of my son or daughter being allowed to participate in the WPYB league for the current season which I acknowledge involves certain inherently dangerous and hazardous activities, the undersigned, which for the remainder of this document will necessarily incorporate for himself, his personal representatives, heirs, successors, assigns and next of kin:

1. The undersigned hereby releases WPYB, Inc., its shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents and subcontractors, all for the purposes herein referred to as releasees from all liability to the undersigned for any and all loss or damage, and any claim or demand therefore on account of injury or death to the undersigned or his son or daughter or damage to the undersigned or damage to the undersigneds property arising out of or related to participation in the WPYB league during the current season whether caused by negligence of the releasees or otherwise.

2. The undersigned hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the releases from any loss, liability, damage or claim for bodily injury or death to my son or daughter or to any third-party, or from any loss, liability, damage, or claim for property damage of my son or daughter or of a third-party they may incur arising out of or related to participation in the WPYB league during the current season, whether caused by the negligence of the releases or otherwise.

3. The undersigned hereby agrees that this release and waiver of liability and indemnity agreement extends to all acts of negligence by the releasees and is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of Wisconsin and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.

4. I have read this release and waiver of liability and indemnity agreement, fully understand its terms, or have had an opportunity to seek legal counsel to further explain it.

5. I understand this release and waiver of liability and indemnity agreement only covers negligent acts of the releasees and does not release in waiver or indemnify the releasees for any of their reckless or intentional acts.

6. I understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing this release, and have signed it freely and voluntarily without any inducement, assurance or guarantee being made to me and intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent owed by law

I give my son/daughter permission to play up as a temporary replacement player. I acknowledge and agree with the above statements and release of liability.
