2025 Umpire Release of Liability

AS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR (UMPIRE): I AGREE TO ALL CONDITIONS LISTED BELOW WHEN UMPIRING IN THE LOS ANGELES BASEBALL LEAGUE.

Please read carefully before accepting and signing.

1) I will abide by all the rules and regulations of the league as outlined in the "LABL Player and Manager Responsibilities at fields" sheet; the "LABL Game and League Rules" sheet, the game day "Los Angeles Baseball League Game Roster & Waiver Of Liability" game sheet, or any league emails or postings, but not exclusive to those.

2) I agree to sign the "Los Angeles Baseball League Game Roster & Waiver Of Liability" for each and every game, warm-up, practice, practice game, all-star game, tryout or any other LABL/NABA event BEFORE participation.

3) I UNDERSTAND THAT THE LEAGUE CARRIES A GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE POLICY. THE LEAGUE DOES NOT CARRY ANY ACCIDENT OR MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR ANY PARTICIPANTS, UMPIRES OR SPECTATORS.

4) I understand that I, my family and my acquaintances park vehicles at their own risks at all fields that the league plays. Risk of foul balls and or vandalism is a possibility, and I will not hold the LABL/NABA responsible.

5) I will abide by any and all Covid-19 (or other strains) rules, regulations and protocols as set by the league and/or field administrators, knowing that those rules, regulations and protocols may change at any time.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY: As a player/participant in that certain baseball league known as the Los Angeles Baseball League (Los Angeles Baseball League, LLC.), which is an affiliate of the National Adult Baseball Association (NABA) hereinafter set forth, I hereby agree to assume all risks and dangers incidental to the game of baseball, or any other dangers at such baseball games, practices, or events. Such risks and dangers include, but are not limited to, injuries by thrown balls, bats, equipment, or sliding, running or physical contact indigenous to the games guidelines, rules, or regulations, or any other dangers at such baseball games, practices, or events. I hereby agree that the Los Angeles Baseball League (Los Angeles Baseball League, LLC.), National Adult Baseball Association, its agents, promoters, officials, sponsors, officers, panels, and board of directors, are not liable for any injuries resulting from the causes outlined herein above, any and all other injuries incidental to the game of baseball, or any other dangers at such baseball games, practices, or events. I acknowledge that the league does not maintain or provide medical insurance coverage for players, participants or spectators. I further acknowledge that the league does not maintain or provide property insurance for players, participants or spectators property, whether owned, borrowed, or hired, and that each player, participant or spectator is responsible for his or her own insurance and safety. I also understand and acknowledge the contagious nature of Covid-19 or other illness, and realize that by participating in any LABL/NABA event I am exposing myself, family members, and others to not only the risks of becoming infected with Covid-19 or other illness and transmitting it to other individuals, but also the risks of sustaining injury and damage, including suffering mild, moderate, or severe illness; permanent disability or death from such illness. I also understand that my voluntarily participation in any LABL/NABA event has inherent risks, hazards and dangers involved with Covid-19 or other illness and I hereby agree to accept any and all risks of injury and damage; including illness, permanent disability or death.

AS LAWFUL CONSIDERATION for the LABL/NABA permitting me to participate in any LABL/NABA event or programs, I HEREBY AGREE that I, my heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, and assigns WILL NOT MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST, SUE, OR PROSECUTE the LABL, NABA, its officers, agents, employees, or volunteers for injury, damage, illness, permanent disability, or death arising out of the negligence, intentional, or other acts, howsoever caused, by the LABL/NABA or by any officer, agent, employee, or volunteer of the LABL/NABA, and/or by another program participant, as a result of my using any facility provided by the LABL/NABA and participating in event.

In addition, I HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND AGREE TO "INDEMNIFY" (TO COMPENSATE AND TO DEFEND) the LABL, NABA, its officers, agents, employees, or volunteers from and against ALL ACTIONS, CLAIMS, OR DEMANDS that I, my heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, or assigns now have, or may later have from today, for injury, damage, illness, permanent disability, or death, arising out of my using any facility provided by the LABL/NABA and participating in event.

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract of indemnify between myself and the LABL/NABA and will sign this agreement of my own free will. I understand that this agreement will remain in effect at all times during any 2025 event and will be valid at any LABL/NABA facility, function or event.


The above electronic text signature verifies my understanding, acceptance and agreement with all terms and conditions set forth on this registration / liability release form.
