COACHING CONTRACT
A PYSA Coach must be a person who volunteers for all the best and purest of motives, namely the privilege of equally directing and instructing a group of young lady ballplayers in all of the proper aspects of traditional, ASA/USA style fastpitch softball, while practicing good sportsmanship throughout. In addition, we expect and require that an PYSA Coach accepts the responsibility and gives equal weight to, being a part of the larger ‘PYSA Team’ in its efforts to provide a fair, traditionally structured game experience to ALL of its players and teams. The selection of coaches is solely within the discretion of the PYSA Board.
EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the core requirements and shared-ideologies expressed above; we also require:
1) Dedicated effort to equally develop, instruct, utilize and provide playing opportunities to ALL of the players on your team, limited only by real safety concerns regarding the capabilities of the player. Instructional efforts are not solely for the benefit of you or your child, nor any subgroup of the players on your team. Rather, efforts are to be applied equitably to all players in your charge, the teams in your assigned division, and the PYSA league.
2) As this is a competitive sport (ever more-so as the age group advances); we expect the Coach to prepare and provide at practices and games, a well thought-out and executed plan of management and instruction as required to teach the necessary, ever-advancing skills and aspects of the game as is appropriate to each age division.
3) We unconditionally require and expect all Coaches to conduct and operate their team in a manner that honors the traditional aspects of good sportsmanship, the traditional structures and rules of ASA/USA fast pitch softball and those of PYSA. Keep it about the game itself and keep it on the field of play. Embrace and promote only the purest aspects of the sport for in all respects of play, including the fundamental skills, execution, tactics, on field conduct and sportsmanship.
4) Remember, that once appointed to a Coaching position, you are publicly associated with PYSA. We generally (and especially when wearing PYSA identifiable clothing), expect you to conduct yourself in ways that will not poorly reflect upon PYSA. Never perform PYSA duties while under the influence of alcohol, non-prescription narcotics, illegal substances, or in any other mental state that impairs your ability to perform such duties.
5) In accepting an appointment as an PYSA Coach, you also accept the ultimate responsibilities of all PYSA team requirements and understand that delegating these responsibilities to subordinates does not relieve you, or your team of those responsibilities and requirements. The Head Coach will be responsible in seeing all sponsorship fees, registration fees and fundraising monies are collected and turned in to the designated party. It is also your duty to actively promote fundraising efforts provided by the league.
6) All teams are required to participate in fundraising and it is the Head Coach’s responsibility, or their designee to promote and maintain all records needed to turn into the fundraising chair. Fundraising is required for your team to participate in tournaments.
7) It is your responsibility to read, understand, and follow all of PYSA’s rules provided to you on the website.
Having read this PYSA Coaches Contract in its entirety and having no further questions or expressed reservations about its meaning, requirements or implications; do indicate my intent and promise to obey, adhere to, perform and follow those guidelines, expectations and requirements as expressed therein, as a condition of my participation as a Coach for the Pahrump Youth Softball Association. I accept fully that failure to abide by the outlined conduct and PYSA Rules may result in my being suspended or dismissed by the PYSA Board.
Do you agree to and accept the Coaches Contract above**
