The purpose of the Canton Youth Sports, Inc Board of Directors is to manage the business of the Corporation with honesty, transparency, accountability, dedication and good will free from adult ambitions, agendas or personal glory.
No experience in youth sports required though being business minded and having an understanding of what is best for our community youth through sports is essential.

Background
Disqualifying Offenses
A person is disqualified and prohibited from serving in any position or participating in any Corporation positions if she or he has pending criminal charges or has been found guilty or has entered a plea of guilty or no contest regardless of the adjudication for any of the disqualifying offenses. A review process of the disqualifiers will be conducted on an as needed basis and will be reviewed by the Canton Youth Sports Board of Directors.
Disqualifying Offenses:
1. All Sex Offenses- Regardless of the amount of time since offense
2. All Felony Violence- Regardless of the amount of time since offense
3. All Crimes against Children- Regardless of the amount of time since offense
4. All Felony Offenses other than violence or sex- within the past 7 years from the time of arrest
5. All Misdemeanor Violence- Within the past 5 years of arrest
6. All Misdemeanor Drug and Alcohol Offenses- within the past 3 years of one or 5 years of multiple offenses since last arrest
7. Any other misdemeanor within the past 3 years from the time of arrest which would be considered a potential danger to children.
8. Open Charges- Anyone with open charges for disqualifying offenses shall be restricted from any positions within the Corporation until the active case is brought to resolution or the charges are dropped.
