just an observation here.... has anybody noticed in every game hutslar will throw a pass and hit the receiver right in the stomach and he still won't catch it. we seem to have a real deficit in the receivers. sombody needs to teach them how to catch a ball. it happens over and over in every game this year. the radio even says over and over during a game that the receiver should have caught that pass. so what's up with that? maybe they should try some other guys. there's got to be one that can catch the ball and hold on to it.

It's funny because i had the same thought in my head. Anyway why can't recievers catch the ball?....lack of confidence in theirselves think about it a perfectly thrown ball should be caught but if that reciever is worried about getting hit or dropping the ball it makes making the catch a way bigger deal than what it should be the old saying is "players make plays" not only that I think sometimes the recievers give up on the route or give up on the play. I think it was the North Harrison game where Garrett throws a i don't know 10-15 yard pass to Zach Patton. And Patton just stands there doesn't comeback for the ball or anything and it gets intercepted. If the recievers keep dropping passes then that's going to make the Quarterback think or worry about throwing too the reciever. Just a last thought and that one of the recievers need to step up and catch a ball.

i'm glad somebody else noticed. what do you think scalf should do about it? he has a pretty decent quarterback for the first time in years and crappy receivers. any suggestions on who he should be putting in that can hang on to the ball?

How to fix the problem?...My opinion is you have a spread offense using 3-4 recievers (maybe put a Tight End out wide) and make the defense use man on man coverage to stop you if they are in a zone try to bust up the zone somehown another option is what I like to call the "Reggie Bush option" amnd that is take your Runningabck and put him in the slot or outside since every defense will be eyeing Matt Smith you put him out as a reciever and put Dylan Long in the backfield or they could run a mini-wing T and have Smith come in motion take the handoff or have him come in motion and run an option off of that another thing that would work is fake tosses or fake handoffs selling them like crazy which would bring the Linebackers and safeties up and you could get a deep pass out of it.....
