| We've got enough games under our belt to start guessing who the best teams are in Class A. 1. Commanding Edge 2. GreenMill 3. Richfield 4. Minnetonka 5. Tri-City ....Agree?

| Enough games under the belt? League game seperates the winners from the losers. There hasn't been enough league games to tell. Here's my Top 5.
1. Minnetonka 2. Tri-City 3. Commanding Edge 4. St. Louis Park 5. West St. Paul (Green Mill)
I saw that Tri-City and commanding Edge face off tonight. Where is Irondale?

| Very true about the league games. We had a real tough one last night. Irondale is on Long Lake Road in New Brighton. I'd bump up St. Louis Park in the rankings. They are absolutely loaded this year.

| How is Wesley Homes, the defending state champion who didn't lose any players from last year not in your top 5? Is this St. Paul pride at its finest again?

| Who cares if they won state. Wesley Homes is one of the most over rated teams in the state.

| So is Tri-City. How long have they had a good team and only been to state twice?

| MTL Expos Scout - how can Wesley be overrated if no one mentions them? Plus if you don't know where Irondale is do you even play baseball?

| Sorry I don't know where Irondale is. I moved to Minnesota from New Hampshire about a year ago. I'm a big baseball fan in general and live close McGuire Field. I guess you would say if I'm a fan of any team, it's the Stockmen's Irish. That's how I found out about the Saint Paul/Skyline League on their site.
I'm very surprised to see how organized and competitive amateur baseball is out here. And yes, I saw Wesley Homes play 3 games in state last year. Definately not a Top 5 team.
Well Stu, this should take you at least a couple hours to read you illiterate bastard!

| Mtl Expos Scout: If you saw Wesley play 3 games in state last year then you saw them go 3-0 but you still maintain the other teams are better? Funny thing about all sports is what separates the great teams from the good teams is winning games when all your chips are in the pot. I do agree with you other teams may have had bigger name players and may have played better at different times during the season but Wesley was obviously the best team in the 2 week stretch that counted.

| I don't know about Minnetonka and Tri City at #1 and #2 in your poll, MTL. Who have they added in the offseason? Neither team is at the point where another year of experience is going to make them a better team. I would guess that the age of both teams is now starting to work against them and their bodies. St. Louis Park on the other hand added Ryan and Dave Lindstrom to the lineup and Jesse Eikum and Bryan Edstrom to the pitching staff. I'd have to have them at the top of any "Best Team" discussion.
1: St. Louis Park 2: Green Mill Brewers 3: Commanding Edge 4: Minnetonka 5: Tri City

| Nice try brew, The sharks oldest guy is 25. I dont think the age of the team is getting in the way. The average age is probably 21 or 22.

| Our team didn't add anybody? Last time I checked we added a guy who threw a no-no. Add in Weber and Reinke when they get back and we're right there.
15-0

| Well well, quick to the defensive aren't we? And while I sincerely doubt the average age of your team is 21 that is why I phrased my statement in the form of a question. 'Who have they added?' as opposed to 'They didn't add anyone'. You really should frame the context of the no-no as well if you want it to carry weight. I'm pretty sure our right fielder threw a no-no back in 6th grade.

| BrewCrew, your one decent pitcher had an ERA over 5 this year in the MIAC. Not real impressive. The rest of your assorted staff got rocked for 11 runs versus White Bear Township yesterday. Pitching, as evidenced by Wesley Homes last year, wins at tournament time. Don't get real cocky.

| I didn't know the rankings were based on the Team Roster on paper. If that was the case, wouldn't the Yankees theoretically win the World Series every year? I'm pretty sure that's why you play the games.
1. Minnetonka (14-0-1) 2. Tri City Shark (15-0) 3. St. Louis Park (16-2) 4. Green Mill Brewers (10-1) 5. Commanding Edge (?)
Until the top two lose, you really can't take them out. Obviously when these top teams play each other, the Top 5 will be more apparent whether the teams stay in the Top 5.
Last time I checked, Commanding Edge lost to Tri City.

| I think all of the 5 teams that have been discussed deserve to be in the top 5, but I would probably move down Tri-City to 3 or 4 because of their close game with the St. Anthony Hogs, a game the Hogs should have won from what I have heard. Either way, all 5 teams are VERY good this year

| In answer to my own question, it looks like Minnetonka does have some young blood on its team in Marcus McKenzie and Sean Kommerstad from the U and Joe Abellara from Hopkins HS.
I think its a testament to how good each of these teams is that everyone agrees they are the Top 5 in state (except stupid #9 who must not have realized that Charlie Rudd is now on the Saints and not the Ramblers).
Anyone know anything about the Victoria Vics? Is Chaska really down this year or was their recent 20-1 loss just a fluke?

| Tonka is legit. They do have some injuries at the moment to a few of their vets. They are VERY deep though.
St. Louis Park made huge additions with the aforementioned players on this page (check Dave Lindstrom's numbers in Triple AAA) and they also picked up Pete Fuller from Hopkins. Fuller is a LHP who has won a lot of games in the past (D1 pitcher) and is 4-0 right now from what I hear. They also have Mike Reeder back with them. Reeder is about 6ft5 and can rake. Played in the Cubs system back in the day.
The manager for Victoria is a clown show, and they have had a reputation in the past as "lippy", but they are much improved this year. They have a lot of Tonka guys that go where they can get playing time right away, and they have added a lot of young/solid Eden Prairie kids as well. Cattell (catcher) is one of the best threats in the state with the bat.
