| I would appreciate it if you all keep LAPD Officer Kristina Ripatti and her family in your thoughts and/or prayers.
On June 3, 2006, Kristina was shot twice while on duty. One of the bullets entered under her left arm, damaged her left lung and an artery, and hit her spinal chord. At this point they are saying she is paralyzed from the chest down. She is in rehab now and will hopefully continue to improve everyday. She most likely will be in a wheel chair for the rest of her life.
Kristina and I were best friends in high school and have remained friends over the years. We played soccer together at Apple Valley High and also club ball. She went on to play soccer at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
Kristina and her husband, Tim Pearce, are amazing people. They have a daughter who is 15 months old. Please keep them in your thoughts.
