| In the late Co-ed games Monday on Field 1,3rd vs. Diagraph we had one of our umpires leave before our games even started. I could understand maybe if he works a night shift, but if he just has to work early the next morning then thatsa bunch of crap!!!! there our quite a few people in those late games that have to get up early the next day. This is not the first time that this has happened either. It's just very frustrating because both of our games were extremely close. I mean no disrespect to the home umpire, but there were a lot of blown calls for both teams that he just couldn't get in position to make. I can understand only having one umpire at times when somebody backs out, but this is ridiculous.
Yours Truly,
Frustrated Coach C

| Bret, I'm looking into it to see why he left early. I'm unaware of it happening before, without me knowing about it. It has happened 2 times this year where an umpire called me and said that he was going to have to leave early and could not find another umpire to take his place. So I just told him to do as much as he could.
I sure hope that no one thinks that anything that's happened this year has been ridiculous. We were short on umpires at the beginning of the year because of high school baseball/softball and khoury league ball. Now, James Isaacs broke his ankle last Thursday and will be out the rest of the year. He was scheduled to work every night from now until the end of the league except for next Friday.
The thing is, like I said in a post and in the meetings earlier this year, there is a shortage of umpires. We take what we can get and I've done what I can this year to try and get the best umpires to take games over here. I'll talk to the umpire and see why he left and go over expectations with him from the league.
Thanks, Dan

| Dan, I appreciate you looking into this for me. I can speak for all of our church teams when I say how wonderful a job you have done this year. I don't think any ill will against the league or its umpires. Overall I think they have done a good job. It was just mainly last nights occurance that was ridiculous to me. it was really difficult having that same umpire behind the plate for both our games. But I do understand we work with what we have.
Thanks for your time Brett
