It was really a nice game for the Rams as the win and score goes. But it could have and should have been a bigger margain of victory. First off The Rams missed some close to the basket shots in a run that could've blown the game open. Another problem early on seems as though the Rams have yet to learn to control the rebounding aspectSome teams you can get by with not controlling the rebounds but come sectional time or come time to play the better teams who rebound well something better be changed. The defense was aggressive which is an improvement. And it will force teams into bad situations. The players played a pretty good game led by Laswell's 25 points which is a pretty good number for a Freshmen Point Guard. Laswell is a star in the making if you watch him it's hard to believe he's only a freshmen. The rest of the team did well The 6'7" German kid you can see good things out of him. Lankford did a nice job inside scoring a few baskets. Springer had first varsity game jitters as he's goin to be pretty good but a little nervous. Trinkle shot a 3 near the end of the game that if he took in the first quarter or early in the game he wold've made. Actually all of those 4 are solid players. Then there's "Pistol Pete" Phillips actually more like "Pop Gun" Phillips or "Potato Gun" Phillips. who has hair like a "Pistol" Pete Maravich, Larry Bird...Adam Morrison...esque mode. The kid needs to learn theres open teammates and instead of pulling a Dywane Wade move and try to split 3 or 4 defenders and score or go behind the back and airball a layup. Kid neds to come down and stop trying to be like "Pistol Pete" or Adam Morrison's little bro and play within the team he'll be a pretty good player if he cuts down the impossible shots or plays. The bench saw some action which if you go 10 or 11 deep come tourney time it ewill be an advantage. Noce too see Donnie Kee come off the bench and hit 3 3-pointers including a nearly halfcourt 3 to end the third quarter. With all of that said it's going to be nice too see how well the play against VanHoose of Lanesville and actually play against Lanesville. Should be a good tight come down to the wire game. Anyway I'm Out

Hey Justin.. I wouldn't say it was a bad game. I've watched you play since summer league... I'm a big fan. Don't worry about the comparisons, whether it be Pistol Pete or Adam Morrison. The fact that you know who Pete Maravich was is impressive enough. Keep up the good work...

By the way... any ABA or 70's NBA reference was well intended. It is my belief we need some more old school players back in the game. Some of these newer style players are cutting it.

Good luck against Lanesville.. I'll be there!

Hey... as you may know, I am Mike Wiseharts biggest fan. He is a dead eye from the three... he just needs to work on other parts of the game. He should see more and more minutes as the year progresses. He is also a great kid.

The JV kids are a great group also, and work hard. Another kid that I would like to see get some minutes is Seth Evans. But you know it is good that these kids are competing for positions... it will make them all better. Knowing there is no chance to win a position does nothing to motivate kids to do better. Knight always said the best motivator is the bench.

phillips has the ability to do alot of things for this team. I like his slashing to the basket and his shooting ability so far. Against Lanesville he had 14 or so points in the first half but 0 the rest of the game. Like how he crashes the boards buit if you get in foul trouble youcan't really od that often. Just a solid player on a good team.
