Once a Snurdbird, always a Snurdbird. haha That's what I always told Shroomy when he came to the Gnats! :) Since I know you guys have a little bit of history behind your team, I figured I'd ask this question. Who are the longest-tenured Snurdbirds on the current roster and how many years have they been around? I know you got George, who must be the answer there, but who are some other guys that have been around for awhile? Also, are there some fans that are always there that used to play that seems like they've been around for decades? I know the Gnats had quite a bit of history, but I don't think anything like your team. Let us know!

Hey Dave-O. Not sure on the exact years, but I would say George will be about 32 consecutive years.
Jeff Burkman will be probably about 17, James Burkman about 15, Chris Baso about 13, and this will be my 11th consecutive. Dusty Burkman is at 10-11. Pete M. and Jamo B. will probably be in their 8th consecutive. Those are the longest consecutive streaks as of now.
For others on our roster, we have had people come and go a couple of times, but most everybody started at around age 14.
I still like to say that it is quite rare to see a good team have players all from the same town.

Very close 1E. This will be my 13th year (started in '95), will be C-Bass' 12th year (with a one year hiatus in '03), he started in '96. This would be Slicks 16th I believe, but I think he is hanging it up.

32 years for George huh? He must be getting close to that all-time L&P HR hit and strikeouts thrown leader! :) He's got my hall of fame vote.
