At the managers meeting tonight, there were a couple issues brought up that were decided on.

1) Time limits on the first double headers will be set at 8:45pm. If the second game is not over by then, the score at the end of the current inning will be the final score. Games can end in a tie.

2) 24 games with no league ending tournament. If there are 5 or 7 teams in a division, all teams will play each other 3 or 2 times. Anything else will have the last night of the league with 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, etc...

3) Pitching mats will be used this year.

4) Hit your own 44/375 ASA ball EXCEPT for the Legend softballs. Top level balls are the Dudley Thunder Advanced and the Evil ASA Microcell. The Trump Stote that we used last year can also be purchased at Anacondasports.com.

5) Weather hotline. Call the weather hotline number listed on the homepage to this site if you are wondering if we play. As soon as I know if we're rained out or not, I will put the message on there. Again, the MINUTE I know that games are cancelled, I will put that message on the hotline.

If anyone has any questions, shoot me an email.

Is their going to be a time limit on the second game.I'm personaly not for the time limit. I feel it was blown a little out of proportion, about how late we where getting done. I get up at 2 or 3 A.M. every day. I've never found it to hard to not get 8 hours of sleep one night. Also it was pretty rare that people where playing at 11PM. I'm not going to raise a big fuss, just feel people are being a little over dramatic about times. It's only a matter of time before people are trying to slow down the game. To get a cheap win. Also ties are gonna screw peoples records, and how long is before that tie costs someone a chance of finishing second or fourth. A game is 7 innings, it always has been. If people can't stay and play because they are tired, then why can't they forfeit. Again I'm not trying to complain. Just don't see a reason to punish the many for the few. I've yet to talk to anyone who want's this. Im not saying their are'nt people who do. But I don't believe it's the majority.

if it matters, I think the time limit is crazy. If you dont want to stay and play then go home with a loss and forfeit if your team doesnt have enough guys. This isnt the all star game or hockey, how can you have a tie in softball. I just dont agree with it.

Unfortunately there was a representative from your guys team last night. It would have been nice if your opinion would have been brought up, but because people blow off these meetings, their opinions don't get expressed.

We just didn't set this time limit for the players. It's for the umpires and the scorekeepers also. It's hard enough to find umpires and scorekeepers, much less keep them when they're out there past 11, 1-2 nights a week. And it did happen.

There should really be no problems with teams being done with their second game by 8:45.

Is their a time limit on the second double header. I did'nt know are representative was for that rule. Thats my fault for not talking to him first. I understand umpires and score keepers don't want to be their late. But with a 8:45 time limit, thats going to get the other games started around 8:55, and have the games getting over around 11:00. Which will defeat the purpose of the time limit. We will all just have to start getting to the games on time, ready to play, and get off and on the field promptly in between innings. I'm not complaining, if I was a score keeper or ump I would'nt want to be their all night either. I did'nt take that in to consideration before I wrote my remarks. Just wish their was another way to do it. Hopefully we'll get some sunshine and be able to go beat ohney's team tommorrow. Just a litle pre game smack talk.

My opinion is load the bases in xtra inings or whenever time is an issue! "There shall be no ties." .....And as for as HOCKEY goes ,they have "shootout"!

The umpires and the scorekeepers are PAID to be there. Just because they are paid by the game and not the hour is not our fault. It seems to me that I talked to some umpires and there is not a shortage of umpires. Hell most games last year we only had one umpire. Scorekeepers, why do we worry about that. Half the time the stats are wrong anyway. Most of the time last year there was a particular female scorekeeper who always had her boyfriend there and she got the game score and innings wrong several times and had to be corrected by the teams playing. My point is if we are going to have a time limit then fine, but the scorekeeper and umpire mistakes need to be at a minimum. Also Dan some of use work nights and do have the lugury of being off to goto a softball meeting. Why not next year email out to the managers a list of questions and have them answer them and email there responce back. Atleast then everyone had the opportunity to voice there concerns. Other than that I think you have done a pretty good job so far

All I ask is one thing. Please be accurate and intelligent with your “criticisms” or suggestions. Please don’t make vague comments about me or the league that have no backing or are so general, they don’t make sense. There is an umpire shortage, that’s a fact. We had nights last year where only ONE umpire took games over here and we need 4 every night to have 2 on a field. So to say “an umpire told me” without saying who you or the umpire is, is just pointless. We did have an issue with scorekeeping at the beginning of the year, but that was fixed. The stats are not wrong “half of the time” and after May last year, I received almost no complaints about them. Scorekeeper and umpire mistakes, in your mind, have nothing to do with the time limit. That’s not an either/or thing.

Half of the team mangers do not have email. Also, Alfred Schach could not be at the managers meeting, but one of his players was. I have a hard time believing that you can’t find one person who is going to play with you this year that could show up. Plus, I really don’t want 50 emails back and forth explaining this to each individual person. I already donate enough of my time as it is.

Too much crying??? Are you serious, you are crying about your stats being wrong in a adult league slow pitch softball game??? Is Someone living in the past just a little to much??? Sorry you didnt make it pro buddy, but give up the grudge, shut your mouth and play exactly what this is, A GAME! Another thing, the time limit probably wouldnt have to be imposed, but everyone used the 15 minute cushion to their advantage. Games should start at 6, no later than 6:15. If you dont have enough players there at 6:15, find players who can be there at that time. I know alot of you complain about having to work, but think of the scorekeepers or umpires, they work all day too and then stay out there for 4 games, while you play in 2 games then go home! If you arent worried about the scorekeepers, maybe the league should do away with them, and you can attempt to keep accurate score and stats while playing the game....
