| Coed stats are behind...we are 6 and 0 bakers is 6 and 2.. plus batting avgs are not registered.
and mens league stats are behind from last wed...
bw is 2 and 4 and the batting stats arent entered in yet..
not complaining just curious if the scorekeepers need help...

| I just talked to Kevin about that. That was his first night and he did them in Tyson's book and blah blah. Anyway, he's getting on it. They should be up in a couple days. Tyson has started a new day job and is a little hard to get ahold of.

| who cares about the stats? before dan set this up, there wasn't anything to look at. so what did you do before two years ago? you just played the game. they aren't very accurate anyway cause a game that says i went 3-3 should have been 1-3 cause i got on via errors. seems like some people are playing for the stats and trying to up their "free agency" for the fall or even next year. all i really care about is who won and lost each week. just my thoughts. go cards!!
p.s. i know some of you will reply by saying "well burd if you could hit good, you would be looking at your stats too." i don't really care. i don't need a website to tell me if im hitting good or not. summers does that for me plenty of times.

| Thanks for stickin up for me Burd. As hard as this is to imagine, i have a life outside of Pyramid park. I put the bases out on both fields and keep score on wed. and thursday and I get the stats on the internet as quickly as I can...considering i get up at about 7 in the morning and dont leave the park till 11 after sitting there for 5 hours, sometimes i just wannna go to sleep, maybe if the games didnt run as long i could get them done that night....hint hint ...stop showing up at 6:29 to play a 6:15 game...hint hint...

| Errors are always counted as hits in softball. Fielders choices are outs, but errors are hits. The issue is with the new scorekeeper Kevin. He's had a new job and his computer crashed about a month ago at home. He got it fixed but is still having internet problems. He's going to get everything caught up this weekend. It's not an excuse, just is what is going on.
I'm out of town and will check everything and see what's missing Sunday and see where we stand.

| Actually our team would like to see our standings, sorry for wanting to know where we stand in wins and losses against everyone else...Of course everyone knows that the stacked team is in first place and will always be, but us regular teams would like to know where we stand... | Against my better judgement, I am gonna respond on this post:
Stats are not of the utmost importance, BUT since Dan started keeping them on here, I think it has become an invaluable tool, especially as a coach. I know that this is not the big leauges and there are no performance based bonuses that anyone will get, but it is fun to look at, and believe it or not gives some people something to shoot for, and sometimes I change my line-up because of the stats.
I also understand that it has been hard for some of the scorekeepers to get the results posted. I dont mind the results being a week behind, but lets remember that they do get paid for their efforts, so they should, (and probably do), make an effort to make sure they dont fall much further back than that.
Lastly, I would say that if this is such a big deal, I, (like Rob Offered) would have no problem helping out the scorekeepers.

| Guys. I totally agree with you. 100%. It's not an issue with the "scorekeepers" though, it's an issue with "A scorekeeper". Not making excuses for him, but his computer crashed and got fixed and then now his modem isn't working so it's being fixed again. I'm making sure that it all gets worked out this week. Not that it matters, but he hasn't been paid yet either because of this.

| I think it's great to see the league standings online. Just a few years ago we didn't even have that. After reading today's message board about the updated stats I decided to check our team. I play for the 3rd Baptist men's team and the hitting stats aren't even close to being right and our win/loss record hasn't been completely updated yet.
However, I appreciate the fact that we have a website to check our schedules and to see what the stadnings are and I know that the standings will be updated soon enough.
Let's be thankful for the improvements that have been made the last couple of years and hope it continues.

| RLang, what is wrong with the "hitting stats"? Some misconceptions people have are:
1) Errors - If you or any runners forced to a different base do not make an out as a result of your atbat, then you are awarded a hit. We do not count errors as outs.
2) Fielders Choice - If there is a person on first and you hit to the shortstop and they throw to second and get that runner out but you are out at first, then you are credited with making an out. If someone has a clear attempt of getting you out and gets a different runner out, then you are not credited with a hit.
3) If you get a single and go to second because the outfielder threw the ball into home, you may or may not get credit for a double. You should only get a single, but may get credit for a double for instance.
Lots of people don't understand this.
In the close to 2 years that I've had scorekeepers keeping score and inputting stats, I have not had it happen one time to where I've noticed that the scorekeepers stats didn't match what our teams book was and we keep a pretty good book as we all know what we're doin.

| Ok there is one good reason why the stats should be updated!!!
After the second week the top 20 rule kicks in...
That means if your short people you cant pick up anyone in the top 20 in batting avg...
So enuuuuufffffff of the stat stuff...... its not Dans fault and you cant email anyone else.. so enuf already!!!

| DReid, the hitting stats for our team are way off. Specifically, some players aren't even listed that have played every game, our main homerun guy hasn't been given any of his homers and it appears they have been given to other players. It shows one of our players only having 3 at bats and he's played all but 2 games. Other players who have played only 1-2 games are shown with too many at bats.
In my opinion, players stats are being entered under other players. It could be that the score keeper has had trouble reading our writing when given the lineups and did the best he could.

One thing to add. I had posted on this site since January that we were going to need scorekeepers this year. I posted it AT LEAST 7-8 times. I had absolutely NO ONE refer someone to me for a job doing it. Absolutely NO ONE.
Just wanted to point that out. We were lucky enough to get what we ended up getting as they're reliable people.
