| Ok heres the deal. . . I love pro sports as much as the next guy but I have a rant. Last week an NBA Ref was accused of betting on and fixing games that he officiated. One of the biggest names in the NFL is a complete thug who is accused of killing dogs if they didnt win a fight he organized, just months after he was caught at a airport with marijuana residue in a hidden compartment in his water bottle. One of the most prestige records in sports is about to be broken by a man who has obviously used performance enhancing drugs and has been a complete ass to the media in the past year. What do all these things have in common???? They are in the 3 major sports in America that ranks over the NHL. If only more people in America would get over the soap opera that is ESPN's portrayal of sports, so many of you would realize what a great sport hockey is. They are no doubt the toughest players in the 4 sports and in the top condition. Hockey is a team sport, not a individual superstar on a team like so many of the others in America. It drives me crazy to hear people say that hockey is boring and then they watch football which runs one play then takes a 30 second break. Dont get me wrong I like football but to be a fan of it and to say hockey is boring is sort of an oxy-moron. The NBA is a joke, as long as you do a cool dunk at the end it doesnt matter if you dont dribble from half court, and what happened to D in the NBA??? MLB seasons run to long, games take to long with 8 different pitching changes in the 7th inning, i know its all part of strategy but it drags out so much and really just makes me lose interest. Not to mention all you can find on baseball is about the Red Sox and Yankees and Barry Bonds, Bonds doesnt play one day and its the headline of Sportscenter, followed by what A-Rod's wife wore to the game that day(unless you are lucky enough to be a cards fan, they are pretty easy to follow around here ;) What my point of this is...give the NHL a chance, go to one game, watch a few on T.V.-= I gurantee, especially if you go to a live game you will be hooked!!! Also, play hockey this winter if for no other reason to stay in shape for softball............

| Tyson, I have to agree with you on most of your post. We let our children look up to these so called 'professionals', yet some of them are the worst rolemodels possible! I personally hope they really stick it to Michael Vick - lets put him in a ring with several pitbulls and see how he likes it!!
If only the owners - and more importantly - the fans would make on a stand on the issue, the 'bad boys' in sports would become practically non existent, especially when theres no money coming in to pay them!! Boycott the games, call the sponsers and protest, stop buying fan memorabilia - hit them where it hurts...their pocketbooks!!

| Dude congrats, you just wrote your first novel...Yeah its good i dont know how it will sell though. Slap a best story ever 6 on there and it will sell like hot cakes. Hey you know what the main point i got out of it was..we should all PLAY HOCKEY THIS WINTER IN THE SOUTHERN ILLINOIS ROLLER HOCKEY LEAGUE!!!!!!
I dont know what it is about hockey maybe its the pace of the game, or the excitment of goals..Maybe its the fact that if you dont like someone you can let them know with a check or a dropping of gloves..Its a mystery to me, But im sure of one thing no other sport compares.

| The mets will take the wildcard, while the rest of the N.L.teams and players Union decide that no team from the Central division is good enough to be in the playoffs.This is the first year that central division winner is bernie the brewer. Hes swept by the Padres and suffers a heat stroke.

| Um, execuse me??? Bernie to be swept by the Pads?? Have you seen bernie slide down the slide, FLAWLESS! Im not sure how well he can play baseball, but who cares he slides down a big slide and waves a flag!!! O yea during the ALCS-ESPN will only show highlight if the Yanks or Sox are in that, otherwise its the WNBA All Star game in which a record crowd is announced of 12 of the girls parents and one of their "life partners"

| I dunno we were at miller park in 05 and Bernie went down that slide like 4 times because mulder sucked. He got tired. Im saying Bernie the Brewer vs's the Padres...he doesnt really stand a chance #1 its in San Deigo #2 Bernie the Brewer hates San Deigo. #3 thats a lot field for him to play on alone. Now i am one of the biggest Bernie the Brewer fans out there..but i think i got it right earlier. by the way why isnt Bernie the brewer NOW...He seems more NOW then the Phillie Fanatic or Fred Bird. Remember hes a Brewer so he brews beer, hes pretty much linked to anyone who has enjoyed any beer ever. Thats pretty NOW. Also hes linked to sausage, they have sausage races every home game. Color Busch Stadium jealous. Heres what most visitors say when they go to Miller Park. " I cant wait to see Bernie the Brewer, and the sausage race.." if thats not NOW then what is? so choke on that espn with your reggie bushs and derek jeters cause i have an ace. An ace with a mustache and nack for brewing, A Mascot so NOW, that hes not affraid of going down slides once twice or three times a game...(never 4 he gets tired after 4.)What ever it takes for MR. Brewer first name Bernie to get us up and out of our seats. So heres to Bernie, keep making us smile. Your the Finest Beer Brewing, slide going down Mascot around!!!!!!

| The closest I ever came to hockey was many yrs ago when I used to use a broom or the closest thing to it and a makeshift puck on ice. Needless to say I couldn't get enough of it then and when I was able to see it on TV I really missed it even though I also missed where the puck went when someone hit it. Anyway, where and when does this hockey league or whatever happen. I might just want to check it out.

Its good to see your intrested thats awesome your right its an addicting game for sure. We are going to be playing at the Williamson County Pavillion this winter!!! Its indoors, (thats the biggest appeal for most people.)We will Welcome you with open arms and are very excited about you expressing intrest.
