Are you serious, listen the cardinals may not be as good as we all know they can be but to say that they wont compete with the cubs is B and then S. Everytime these teams get together its a good series, Actually if i rememeber right the cardinals took 2 of 3 last time they played..Maybe if your gonna talk crap about the cardinals you should have your facts right. Hey listen, when was the last time the cubs won a pennant? what 194SOMETHING?? Cub fans are you jealous of your central division rivals..are you jealous that the cardinals have one of the greatest players of all time, or are you jealous of the ten times we've been able to call ourselfs world champs. Maybe your jealous of the fact that senice 2000 no one in the N.L. has had a better win loss record. It could be your jealous that our fans dont interfer with foul balls, or that on the very next play our short stops dont miss routine ground balls(IN THE PLAYOFFS). Maybe its the fact that we seem to always be in the playoffs and we have a great baseball history and winning traditon whatever it is, its funny. Keep being jealous because its gonna be a while before the cubbies win anything. and oh yeah

Last nights game was awsome, bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, 1 runner on, "pujo"(representing the winning run)up to bat, and what happens...CUBS WIN!!! ha, ha, it made my nite! GO CUBBIES!!!

Were not the fans who turn on each other for going for foul balls, we dont kick people out of our city. But you know what you dont see cardinal fans going for foul balls when our players have a play on the ball, thats because we have smart fans. We dont blame our misfourtnes on a goat either. Maybe, just maybe this is why we win Championships... #1. When we spend money we spend it in the right places. Hint not kerry wood and mark prior, Alfonso has been well worth it too.THUMBS DOWN. #2. We always have team chemistry, do i really need to say anything more. Zambrono, Lilly ? #3.were not idiots

| Cubs vs Cards debates are like comparing a Corvette vs a Fiero.
The Fiero had it's brief time, but nothing ever came of it. Kind of how the Cubs are the best team in baseball until April. By September, you realize they're all fiberglass and are complete crap. Also, you mostly saw girls driving them, much like most Cubs fans are girls.
The Corvette has stood the test of time. It's a proven winner and the top of it's class, as are the Cardinals. Men drive Corvette's and men are Cardinal fans.
Plus, the amount of money that the Cubs can spend vs. the Cards is a joke to suck that bad over their existence. There's no argument here.
Carry on ladies.

| There are so many things in that last post, including spelling, run on sentences, etc... that make me laugh.
How is a team the "WORST TEAM TO EVER WIN A WORLD SERIES"? How exactly do you make that distinction? If you mean by their regular season record, then that explains how ridiculous the rest of your post is. Here's a clue: Regular season means crap once the playoffs start. As YOU found out with your great Mets. Your better pitchers were hurt for the playoffs. OUR better players were hurt for the second half of the season. Eckstein, Rolen, Pujols, Edmonds, Isringhausen, Mulder, etc... all missed substantial time in 2006 due to injury. They all got healthy come playoff time (with the exception of Mulder and Izzy) and they lost a total of 5 games in 16 playoff games.
There isn't one argument that you can make that I won't be able to blow out of the water, so don't try. Just keep lying in bed and looking at your poster of Darryl Strawberry on your ceiling, dreaming of the good ole days when smokin crack on an airplane was cool.
P.S. Without Buckner, you wouldn't even have won that one.

| By the way deaton your comment about our starting pitching was typical cubs fan. We didnt spend any money on starting pitching this year cause it was all over priced crap. Thats why we have guys like Looper and Thompson from the pen in our line up, we know how much of a scrub Jason Marquis is, which is why we didnt give him 7 million dollars to get 9 wins and about 13 losses, thats why the Cards spend money better than the "baby bears" cough gay cough

| Hey Met Fan, You still crying? I would be crying from the verbal hand that just smacked you in the faced. good call with the "we should have beat you." should of, but didnt and then we went on to win a world series. Doug Deaton I've seen the cardinals do what? what was that you said. They WON what? i know they won something...oh thats right the world series. You've never seen your team even come that close. senice i've been alive my cardinals have been in the world series 3 times, How many times have your cubs been in the series senice 1985...what zero? the comparison of the cubs and cards is like night and day. One team has a history of winning the other has a history of blameing other people and animals for there asstactular play...
thats right thats a new word.
Its kind of hard to say we spent a lot of money this year when theres like 14 teams that spent more than us. So senice theres like 30 teams in MLB i'd say that puts us somewhere in the middle. Where as the cubs were in the top ten, and who did they pick up Ted Lily? Jason Marquis? you should have just gotten some pitchers from the Southern Illinois Miners. by the way what does Kerry Wood do now, I heard they were gonna move him to grounds crew but he hurt his elbow pushing a wheel barrel and had to get Tommy Johns surgery...Good investments there he seems more than worthy to keep on a big league roster. But i do remember when the cubs commentators deemed him last year as the " BEST RELIEF PITCHER ALL YEAR." Heres the thing cubs fans im a cardinals fan, we won tonite and im not on here bragging about it. Listen, when the cubs achieve something in baseball, even a divisonal title, then you can talk, maybe even the wildcard i dont want you guys to shoot to high. Until you have some kind of sucess, dont talk. its pretty simple, we have 10 rings the best in the N.L. and the cardinals are a stature for what every team desires to be. Great teams with great fans, with great baseball history.
Can you say that Cub fans?

| Who said the cardinals were the best team ever. I've never said that. i've never heard anyone say that. Ask any cardinals fan and he/she will tell you that Jimmy has always been a streaky hitter and he happens to be at the end of his career but we love seeing him play center field and we all love the Jim Edmonds homerun swing, but we always expect a strike out or two a game as well. Hes a fan favorite, his jersey and tee shirts are behind pujols and maybe carp in top sellers. We know what we have and its not much this year but we dont live in denial or make excuses.

We cheated, Take back Yadi's homerun and Wainrights 12 to 6 because that series should'nt have happen because Pedro wasnt ready to say "game on." Did you have a point about David Eckstein? Was it hes not even the top 20 shortstop something in the league? Does that matter in the world series when you hit three doubles and a single in game 4 to give your ball club the win and then hit two singles and drive in two in game 5 to lead your team to their 10th world series title? Lets move on to the last sentence. "Enjoy your ring because it will be your last." Wow bold prediction! How exactly did you come to that? So your saying for the rest of baseball the Cardinals will never win a title again. hahahahaha ok, sounds good mets fan. Notice I said MOST fans, not all, some of you are quite intelligent in baseball, you just must have been born into the wrong family of Cubs fans. With that being said im gonna admit something.....there is one thing I like about the Cubs, Ryan The Riot, just because his last name is wicked awesome and he is a pretty solid ball player, on the other hand Aramis Ramirez and Mark Prior belong in a box becasue they are TOOLS!

| Bandwagoners? Really Neil? Really? I will admitt that last year at the new stadium there were a lot of first time fans. People traveling to see the new stadium, and who can blame them its a nice stadium. It will be a whole lot nicer once ball park village is competely built.. Heres the thing though, the cardinals pretty much still draw about 40 to 45 thousand a game. So i guess we have the bandwagon fans who cheer for sub-par .500 teams? That makes sense, another inteligent remark from a cubs fan who doesnt really know what there talking about. Also Yankee fans are bandwagoners too? REALLY NEIL? Cause they still draw in the upwards of 55 thousand. Where did you come up with this? Also i find it funny how everytime a new cardinal or an oppoisng player is asked about the stl.fans they say how great we are and how much knowledge we have about the game and how they cheer for a great play regardless if a cards player makes it or a player from the other team does.I cant tell you how many times i've heard "its a great place to play, the fans make it a fun place." from people in gray jeresys.TO CUB FANS WHO POST ON HERE: If your gonna make up something stupid about the cardinals make it a little harder to de-myth than this please.

| As a Cub fan and a baseball fan I am not crazy enough to call Cardinal fans bandwagoners. St. Louis is a good baseball town and the fans are loyal. However, the Cubs have some of the most loyal fans in the country as well. For example, Cincinnati was jammed packed this weekend with Cubs fans. The Cub fans made the Great American Ballpark seem like it was home. And it's not just Cincy. Wherever the Cubs go they always draw a good crowd. For a team that hasn't won a series since 1908 that's pretty amazing. In 2003, when the Cubs were playing the Braves in the playoffs in Atlanta people were referring to it as Wrigley of the south. A possible reason for both teams being so well loved is this. The Cards were on the radio across the country for years. Before all of the expansion teams came around. The cubs were on WGN across the country for years too.
The rivalry between these two teams is one of the greatest in all of sports. While the Cardinals have a lot more world series rings The Cubs lead the all-time series 1,131-1,070 through 7/26/07.
Here's the link to that info for any doubters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardinals-Cubs_rivalry

| Ok, here we go... I made the remark that the majoraty are bandwagoners, but I neglected to put in that not all are(for the ones that don't know what majoraty means). Sorry to have offended anyone...agian... I made a remark about some of you sensitive card fans and now I'm the bad guy, I had no stats to back up my statement(just my opinion). "People traveling to see the new stadium, and who can blame them its a nice stadium."... Okay I never said Busch stadium wasn't nice, it is, but I liked old Busch better(my opinion). "Heres the thing though, the cardinals pretty much still draw about 40 to 45 thousand a game. So i guess we have the bandwagon fans who cheer for sub-par .500 teams?"... Everyteam has loyal fans that come see them play at home(again my opinion). "That makes sense, another inteligent remark from a cubs fan who doesnt really know what there talking about."... Ok so this is supposed to be where I get all upset, not... I'm not so sensitive that when someone says anything that I don't agree with that I get all worked up(my opinion). "Also i find it funny how everytime a new cardinal or an oppoisng player is asked about the stl.fans they say how great we are and how much knowledge we have about the game and how they cheer for a great play regardless if a cards player makes it or a player from the other team does.I cant tell you how many times i've heard "its a great place to play, the fans make it a fun place." from people in gray jeresys."... Okay, he says, she says, they said, well everyone says the same about wrigley and so on, I doubt that there is a ballpark out there that really sucks to watch a major league game at(again, my opinion). "TO CUB FANS WHO POST ON HERE: If your gonna make up something stupid about the cardinals make it a little harder to de-myth than this please."... Ok, just to let you know, I didn't make up anything, I stated my opinion...something I, you, anybody is entitled too. | i was never pissy, if you took it as pissy then sorry but you said earlier today that you hate the cardinals and yankees...so now im confused because u seem to contredict yourself? Please clear that up.
Also to the person who talked about the 03 series in the atl, of course cub fans filled it up, the avg attendance for braves game is less than 27,000 thousand. The stadium can hold over 40. So thats not a big to do. Also i will agree that the cubs do have a good following around some parts of the nation but thats part due to the fact there ESPN'S "Loveable Losers." American sports fans root for the under dog and theres no bigger under dog then the Cubs(same with boston before there championship in 04) a lot of the Cubs loyalty across the nation is credited to this marketing ploy. After all, we are americans and we do and say what we see on t.v. .
Also what? Neil, you were trying to break down my points, but you failed to make any solid refrence on them outside of just a repeat of what i said. You previously said that the cardinals fan base was mostly band wagon fans. Then after repeating this sentence: "The cardinals draw 40 to 45 thousand a game." you stated that cardinal fans were loyal? If confused was a crayola crayon you could color me with it, because this makes no sense. Im not trying to throw you under the bus, I am just trying to understand your arguement and finding it nothing short of frustrating.

I find it funy that a Cubs fan could tell them more about their team than they can. The attendance issue was your reasoning for the cards fans not being bandwagoners. No offense taken at all, I just find it fun at times to stir the pot and see what comes of it, and on here its funny to see some people get so heated on issues like Cubs and cards...

| This is my last comment towards you. You dont understand, you make one comment then go back and competley say the oppiste of what you said previously. So its like your trying to say something to get a rise out of people on one post. Then you try to be very diplomatic on the next. The problem is, that you contredict yourself everytime you do this. So I dont know if anyone knows what your argument is anymore I really dont care but just trying to help you out for your future post.
