| I noticed posted with the scores for last week's games the comment,"Red carded player out for 2 more." Unless I am missing something I thought a red card warranted a one game suspension, even with FIFA rules. I am hoping this was just a typo, but if not could someone explain.

| Usually red cards do warant a 1 game suspension. Now, he did get the red card for cussing at the referee and I guess that is a 2 game suspension.

| Yes he did get the card for cussing, (which he should had). How this came about and other issues have been addressed with the league and we are awaiting a reply. Rules say no cussing (in any language) and we must abide by that, REGARDLESS of what we precieve to have happened.

| He was walking away while cussing after getting hurt with no foul called, the ref ran after him and gave him the card, I know I was there.

| You must have been watching a diiferent game, I was walking towards the player when while he was walking to the sidelines cussing alot either towards the ref or a player. Bottom line he was cussing towards an opponent or a ref. That is a red card offense. No ref ran at him, he was like 15-20 yards from him when he pulled out his red card. I was about the same distance.

| okay, the ref made a move toward him to give the red card. If he got the card for cussing, that burgundy team was talking and cussing on their side of the field the entire second half. Next time I go early to watch a game, I will be sure that the burgundy team is not playing or I will wait in my car.

| Alright, I found the answer for why the 2 game suspension. Assuming this incident is being considered an "abusive verbal attack," listed in the Code of Conduct, rule #7 warrants the 2 game suspension as a maximum punishment allowed. Otherwise it would fall under "foul or obscene language," rule #8. Basically it is however the ref decided to sum it up.
Unfortunately, I don't think the complete situation was taken into consideration when issuing this punishment. The league only considered 1 party's side of the story when issuing this punishment.

| So basically you can cuss all you want as long as its not in english.Or you coach with one of the refs. How about threating players? That obvisously doesnt matter as long as your good friends with the ref either.

| would abusive include walking off the field for medical attention, not likely. That is what it looked like to from my point of view AND Cowboy you are correct about in any crussing in language, that is why I will not be at the fields while the burgandy team is playing. The blue team only had that isolated incident, can't not say the same for the other team.

| ok guys ,,, here goes another round of players that act like BIG BABIES,, when you have coaches telling there own players to hit or hurt the other teams players, and that player goes up to another opposite player and tells them this... that team should not be able to come back for the rest of the season,, and it is true although the ref's did red card some for cusing,, a few that did cuss in spanish ob the field were not heard.. they should have one team on one side of the field and the opposite team on the other,, so maybe the ref's can hear betterif someone threatens me on the field,, i wouldnt stand for that,, would you.. remember this is just a game,, and some coaches (burgundy team) should stop whinning, cussing and caring on likes 2yr. ols.. they should not be able yo play to play at all..

| you know, i'll admit that my biggest weakness refing is that i don't understand ALL spanish. I have no idea on any cuss word. If I did, there would be alot more red cards.

I agree with you that teams should be on the opposite side of the fields.

| There is no designated side for either team, maybe we can bring this up at the next manager meeting. We can make it a rule to sit on the opposite sides !

| Unfortunately, some people take soccer way too serious. Most games that I ref, I see spectators talking to each other having a good time. To be fair to those who only watch, cheer and have a fun time, look at code of conduct #7 and #8.
We do have the right to ask anyone to leave !

| If your still playing soccer at our age you must love the game. And everything you love you take serious. For example if your married or have a girl friend and someone hits on them in front of you your going to take it serious. Most of us have been playing the game since we we kids and now were adults, We grew up with the game being apart of our lives. So i'd say we take it serious, and that we love the game. The simple fact is some calls go your way and some don't. So refs like to give cards for soft fouls and language, other don't. The refs aren't always going to make great call, especilly if you on the team who the foul was called on.
