So does anyone here actually want to discuss crucial moments in the game that don't involve the men in blue? I mean anyone for clutch hits, great defense or just some hard nosed baseball? The most credit our pitcher got was that he had a good change up and he kept park off balance. If you all say park is as good as they are, then the 8 innings of 2 run baseball he put up should be what we are talking about. Or maybe the fact that I didn't see any Park players totally loose their cool after what was a miserable call at first and then that they were able to come back that same inning and string hits together and put up two runs after the fact. All the posts here that get the most views and the most discussion are based around complaints. Seriously, no one likes a Monday morning quarterback or in this case a next day web-blogging umpire. I am in no way trying to start rift here, especially in light of the endless discussion over the game between us (hopkins) and park, because I admire the hell out of the park team and I hope I can still be playing on the level you guys are a few years into my future. But I just want to know if anyone else agrees with my perspective that it seems that a lot of people have lost focus? Maybe it's just my ignorant youth (since people seem to put a lot of weight on that too) ignoring the fact that the umpires really are taking away ALL THE FUN in the game and that our best choice would be to hang up the cleats and take over to make calls for our kids...seriously now. Anyway, I'm sure I havn't made any new friends after that but I hope I have at least made some people think about what part of the game is most important.
