I think the lights at Crosby need to be addressed. It is extremely hard to see at this park while playing under the lights. Judging by feedback from players in the league both the outfield and infield need to be fixed. Is there a way that this can be accomplished?

I think we should also address the 1 vs. 2-umpire system. At this years AGM, how can we make sure that both sides of the argument are fairly heard?

I know this isn't going to be a popular suggestion but I think we need to find a different park to play at, Crosby just ins't cutting it. If we could find a park similar to Ashton it would solve a few issues. First, the lights, they suck and are a potential hazard. Second the Home Run Rule. If we find a park that is 275 in the corner and 320 to center I'm pretty sure we could do away with the +2 rule.

Looking forward to next year....Paul.

I agree. The lights at Crosby are going to get someone hurt.

Would it cost the league more to rent out Miliken than to rent out Crosby or Ashton? I'm just wondering because they should have accpetable lighting there too.

All these issues and more will be addressed at the AGM. I am currently discussing the lights at Crosby with the Town of Markham. The park itself is a great attraction to all and is in fact the reason a lot of players play in these league. It`s proximity to the community is the key.

Obtaining other parks is almost impossible as many are being removed and made into soccer fields for the changing demographic population. South Berzy is located off of Buroak (between Kennedy and McCowan. It is a beautiful park that was completed last year......without lights!!!! The best solution would be to possibly increase the height of the existing fence and change the lights.....which I am pursuing.

Any and all constructive comments and or possible solutions are welcome!

There are ways to increase the height of the lights without replacing the poles. It would involve a steel frame extension that could be anchored into the concrete post. Obviously the cost to the city would be the issue. I could arrange to get a per pole price to achieve this through the engineering company I work for, but it depends on the stage you are at with the city. Are they considering proposals and do they have the will to do something. If not, than the discussion should end.

The fence should be increased, but the USPL should continue to play at Crosby.

Sounds great Steve.
Interested to hear the findings at the AGM (if available).

Hopefully the Scarpitti government is open to proposals but because they haven't said a definite "no" we'll have to take a shot in the dark at what the budget might be if or without help from the gov't.

The issue here is that the lights are not bright enough. If an alteration could be made to the type of light bulbs being used, would that be a more healthier alternative? I don't know if there are LED lights available in this quantity and quality but they are brighter and they use less energy.

adrenaline, perhaps you could run the issue past your friends in science class. Maybe you can put together some kind of contest where the winning light post design could be presented to local government! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist
