| What is the rule for the following..
A kid is running with the ball and he knocks his own flag off.
Is he down where his flag falls off or does the defense have to touch him between the shoulders and the waist ?

| 7.g. If a player’s flag falls off during play then the player must be touched by the opposing player with 1 hand between the shoulders and knees.

Thank you for your response, this was my interpretation of the rule also, however, the officials in Lexington did not agree.
The officials for flag football get paid the same as they do for tackle, however, they need to read and understand the rules to prevent these types of mistakes.

| I hear ya scott. i have been coaching flag for about 4 years now. And some refs understand the rules and some don't. many try to do the rules like Pop Warner, which ours are a little different.
