| If a certain official is accused of being bias toward a team, maybe that official should not officiate that team's games. Otherwise, if the accusations are being made during a game, the individuals making the accusations should be addressed, ex: maybe those 2 colored cards carried by all officials would do the trick. Trying to over compensate to try and show you are unbiased is not the solution.
One last thing, when the official makes the comment that the remarks are being made regarding him being bias, you know it is weighing heavily on his mind, and the over compensation is apparent. Not to take anything away from the official, but he is probably better off not officiating this particular teams games.

| About using the cards, I don't know why some of the officials, that are in this league, don't use them more.
They let too much go, in the past and the present.

| The whole bias thing.
I have refed your team before and teams that I am friends with, which is about half of the teams in this league.
When things happen during the game, I have to think as a referee. Otherwise, I will be accused of being biased to every team that I consider my friends. Which for your information, this is the 2nd time in this month I have been accused of this with a different team.
Because of this talk, that is why there are not enough referees in our league.

| My post had nothing to do with me being carded, and I don't recall insulting a ref, other then questioning his call. If you want to know, the first card was uncalled for, but the second I can't disagree with. But if you want to get really picky, if the right call was made initially, the second card would never have occurred.
I know, you reacted to what you did or didn't see. Everyone else watching the game and my bruised ribs can prove I was checked from behind while challenging the ball. As far as my reaction, that was my attempt to maintain my balance and keep myself from hitting the ground. There was no malicious intent intended from my reaction. AS for my reactions following the card, I can't defend that and I am not trying to.
When you, yourself, tell me specifically that the other team is making accusations about you being bias that is when I feel you failed to respond appropriately as an official. To help jog your memory, if was an out of bounds ball, and I made a comment to you while playing the ball in and you responded, “They are already accusing me of playing favorites...”
Bottom line, my initial post was not generated to argue any cards as I said before. I wasn't arguing that. The fact that you made the comment regarding the accusations made by the other team showed or gave me the impression that you were feeling pressured to prove them wrong.
As for the funny guy, xtreme, yeah you guys got one on us and I'm not going to make any excuses. But we'll play again and you should expect a better showing from our team. Besides, it's about time someone gave us a little competition. I was getting a little bored there for a while.

| maybe, I jumped the gun with the first card. I mean, you did put your arm on him pretty quick and my first thought was that you were going to hit him, but you didn't. That is why you got a yellow and not a red. But then you go and make fun of my eyes, that requires a red everytime.
And you know, when you are asked to leave, and you don't your are either suspended or your even sometimes your team must forfeit. Ask any team that it happened to in the past. Or check the ruling.

| Criteria for being a referee for the city is to have a business license.
To be a referee, you must take a referee class, where you get a referee license and badge.
Price to be a referee is as low as $25 - $50.

| Honestly, I don't recall making fun of your eyes. Me, having a condition of my own, I know better than to poke fun of someone elses and that is something I take seriously.
Maybe I made a comment that could have been taken the wrong way from someone elses point of view, I don't remember. I apologize if I did say something that was offensive, that was not my intention.

| I think both cards were warranted in the game. If you had your arm around the player I doubt it accidentally got there. I've played quite a few soccer games and never seen an arm end up around somebody's neck at the end of a play. The red card was appropriate because of the middle finger you gave the referee, or the comment about his eyes...you choose. In any case you deserved both cards and where the yellow could occur again, hopefully you can control yourself and prevent the red card.

| Xtreme, glad you have such an interest in this post but no one asked you for your input.
In regards to your comments, 'the many soccer games you've played,' maybe that hasn't been as many as you think. Another thing I'd like to point out, the red card came after any hand jesters. Besides I never said what I did was acceptable. Also, if you had read any of the previous posting, you would see that I have never argued any of the cards, and I have said any comment that were made may have been misconstrued, and I apologized for that misunderstanding and to those who may have taken them offensively.
In the ‘many’ soccer games you claim to have played, you’ve never seen another player’s arms end up around another player. That’s funny that you would say that because I recall a similar incident playing against your team at another time, where a teammate of yours had his arm around me. He was shorter than me so his arm didn’t quite reach higher than my shoulders, where in my case I tend to be taller than the average player, and my arm ended up over your teammates shoulder and across his chest. I don’t recall ever having it around his neck. But, you know what your teammates reasoning was for him having his arm around me? He told me himself, he was trying to keep from falling. I’ve seen it happen on many occasions. Then again, from the ‘many’ games you have played, you’ve probably never seen a player check or hack another player, even though your team has done it consistently.
You can go ahead and sit there and continue to believe what you want to believe. You can continue to stir the pot, but I’ve already said we’ll play again and I look forward to it. We won’t lose again. Until then, you go right ahead and keep on stirring away.

| firedawg, I only made the last post because I grow tired of reading about your complaints. The ref did a good job and what you're looking for on this post, who knows? Do you want a pat on your back and somebody to say, "I'm sorry the referee didn't treat you like a good little boy." You had your arm around another player's neck, said a few choice words, flipped off the referee, and you complain about the referee being biased as the reason for the card....geez!! Also, whether we win/lose the next game we're just out there to have a good time.

| You know, stuff like this happens more than you know in alot of sports and I've seen it before. So, I know how to handle it. Referees have to have control and they can not let players or anyone else do it for them.
This is all an experience thing. Remember, calmer heads will prevail !
