| Do to the number of red cards last night, some
red cards will require a minimum of 1 week
suspensions. Others will be 2 weeks and 1 red
card will be 3 weeks.
1 week suspension means they can not play soccer
on Wednesday and Sunday.

When you get a red card you are putting your fate into my hands. All red cards are not equal. A red card for violence and disobedience will score differently from others, say language.
Also, past behavior will come into play. A first time offender might not draw the same suspension as a repeat offender.
The bottom line is control. Players have their own fate in their hands, when they lose control, they give their fate to others.
This first week of Wednesday soccer is a good example. We had red cards ranging from a 4-week suspension, to 1-game suspension.

| There is now a more defined system that we have established regarding red cards.
Basically, any red card is 1 game minimum; except double yellow.
From previous statement by dave, it depends what causes a player to receive a red card then if anything happens afterwards will have a bigger punishment.

| By the way, if you get a red card and it is a 1 game suspension, then you will sit out the next day of that league.
Example: You get a red card on the wednesday league and suspended for 1 game , that means you will sit out the next wednesday; it has nothing to do with the Sunday league.

| What you should control is the teams manager. They're the ones that need to set the example and calm down their players. As well as their spectators, since they are the cause if the red cards. There are people that have nothing to do at the park and they only come tocause problems and when the problems been done.....they simply leave like the little RATS THAT THEY ARE!!!!!!

| First of all It is not couch... go back to ESL classes. It is coach.. Secondly,, No one is proud of the fighting that happened. There are players in this league and in every league that have very strong players, very hard to beat.. Soccer is a physical sport,, you will fall down, get kicked, etc, etc. It is not only one player but many who fall in this category.. In a meeting with HEAD RECREATION... It was clear that no other teams should be present during a game that they're not suppossed to be there.. Because of their reputation of just looking for trouble.. And that happened again yesterday.. If it is not your game,, Don't show up and start insulting ... Or you will be directed to the head referee. STOP THIS NONSENCE..

| Ongoing rule changes are crap! Players should receive the designated league approved consequence based on their actions, not as a result of what occurred on other fields, between other players, supporters, or managers. Furthermore, any player who joins a competive and physical team sport should keep in mind that bumping and bruising does occur. It is the responsibility of each player to represent themself with integrity and respect the game. I for one am not putting myself in position where I jeopardize my family, profession, or standing as a law abiding citizen because of a recreational hobby. To my knowledge, the City of Victorville is not obtaining professional contracts for any participant, stop acting like your life depends on the outcome of the match and enjoy yourself! Frequently, as in the case of the Heartbreakers/Milan game last night, when players enter the field with the intent to personally and physically injure another, they themselves end up getting hurt. Outside of one other incident I am aware of, neither of these two teams have experienced the humiliating outcome of near bench clearing brawls except when playing each other. Furthermore, if one has so little self-control that they cannot prevent themselves from talking trash and striking several players and coaches, they should be removed from the league. Perhaps those that enter the field with the chip on their shoulder, looking to harm other players, should stay at home and reflect on what is truly important in their life.

| EXACTLY,, IT HAS BEEN PERSONAL FOR A LONG TIME.. AND HONESTLY THERE IS NO GOOD REASON FOR IT.. I HAVE TRIED TO CALM THINGS DOWN BY TALKING TO A SUPERIOR, IN THIS CASE, DAVE.. WHY IS THE HELL ARE OTHER WOMEN WHO ARE NOT SUPPOSSED TO BE PRESENT, INSIST ON BEING THERE WHEN ARSENAL, STRIKERS, HEARTBREAKERS PLAY AGAINST MILAN.. THEY CAUSE SO MUCH COMMOTION.. START INSULTING.. AND AT THE END THEY WONDER WHY THINGS GET OUT OF HAND.. THINGS SHOULD BE SETTLED AT A TABLE WITH DAVE..
WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THEM? WHY SO MUCH HATRED? WE WERE WITH THEM, NOT WE ARE NOT.. SO WHAT.. LIFE GOES ON.. WE CHOSE NOT TO HANG AROUND THEM..

| This is unfortunate that these ladies always cause trouble when they play each other. Now it is bad enough trying to control things on the field but, when it starts or escalates from the spectators then there will always be problems.
And honestly, this is our biggest problem out there. That too many people are taking this sport too personal and in some cases even further.
I would like to get this resolved starting with this Sunday. Any of the players that from the match wednesday, I would like to speak with before there game on Sunday. Just come a few minutes early. No certain time, because I don't want everyone to come at once cause nothing will be acomplished. If I am reffing, please be patient and walk over to me to get my attention.

| It is extremely unfortunate that so much commotion arises when these particular ladies teams play each other. And has anyone taken the time to look at what actually happened last night, and what the ref had to say. The girl who got hurt landed wrong… no one kicked her! (in regards to the Milan/heartbreakers game) And what about the attacks from behind, and the insults from the sidelines?? Not everyone who was involved last night was punished, and this is most certainly not the first time an oversight like this has occurred. Some of these ladies come to the park just to fight, not to play. Go join a boxing studio if that’s what they want… perhaps they’re a little confused, but soccer doesn’t require the use of your fists

| This whole message board is disappointing. People are resorting to personal attacks rather than actual facts. What happened Wednesday night is a serious problem and needs to be addressed by those in charge. I'm not sure how many of you are aware, but the player who was injured in Wednesday night's game - - - her leg was broken from the incident. This did not occur by her tripping on her own. On a positive note, she is dealing with the situation in a mature manner and will be presenting all of the data to the Parks & Rec, including those related to her injury, and seeking for the matter to be taken care of through Parks and Rec. Hopefully, the fact that the player who injured her has been a known repeat-offender, will surface and the offender will be dealt with accordingly. Also, hopefully, the rest of the people posting caddy and harmful tidbits on this site will try and be part of the solution as well, not more of a problem. Let's try and preserve the women's league that many of us had fought pretty hard to maintain for many years. Most of us are pretty thankful that we have a forum where we can participate in the fun and competitive sport of soccer. Let's not ruin it for ourselves.

And yes, there are many tough players out there,, not only one exactly.. Soccer is a physical sport and there is contact in every game.. That is why we sign a release form when we sign up..

| And Roxy, In case you were there present, you should know that the ref wrote down that she had landed bad and therefore got injured.. This does happen.. I am currently with a brace because I landed wrong.. It happens to even the best ones.. What about all other players who come to instigate, humiliate, and look for trouble when it is not even their game.. They have a bad reputation down the hill for being a fighting crowd.

| Everyone in the forum needs to chill out.. It was a terrible incident on Wednesday and It should not happen again. We are women, moms, who come here to relax, have a good time. We all enjoy soccer, some a bit too much.. At the end we need to respect eachother, respect the fact that there are families present and kids who will later on play the sport we all love. We don't want to teach them how we should not play. I believe it has happened in the past where soccer just dissapears here in the high desert, then what will we do.. drive down the hill..!! It is not worth it.. Let's be civilized people, we are not animals, we are human beings acting like animals, .. Hopefully the talks we have with Bill Head Ref.. will end this.. If not,, drastic measures should arise..

| I totally agree with you Roxy. It's sad that this happened to this girl. But sometimes your health comes first. This girl had already hurt herself in the first time. But she was encouraged by a third-person to get back in the game and try to hurt the other girl that had hurt her.But her plan backfired at her.She hurt herself instead. The referee saw this incident and wrote it down on the card.SO STOP BLAMING IT ON OTHER PEOPLE!Soccer is a contact sport these types of things will happen. And you, like a player has to have responsibility of how you act out there in the field. | Thanks Ray Ray, you softball guys...
Anyway, this will be too long and too confusing, but here it goes.
There is always two sides to every story. Very rarely do we have one person who fights by him or her self. It takes at least two.
Think about all these issues and we always have people who think that the right thing to do is to take the "law" into his or her own hands and retaliate, I know some are going to say something like, "the ref wasn't going to do anything..." That's a cop out for poor behavior.
People alway want someone kicked out of the league for life, but everytime there is a major issue, it's not just one person invlolved. Take this latest issue as an excellent example:
Someone is hurt. Some people say they saw it happen one way- that the player tripped or something, and some people say that they saw someone cause the injury. OK, two perspectives, what did the ref see? One side doesn't care because they take matters into their own hands and start retaliation. OK, now go back to the two perspectives. Take both into account and look at the retaliation. You have someone making physical communication. On both perspectives that second person makes matters worse. In the first perspective they look to have started the agression. In the second perspective they have taken the focus off of the true instigator and have made themselves look just as bad. And I'm supposed to throw out one and not the other?
Some people say how much does this person have to do to get ejected, but I say, if each and every time the second person did not muck up the water, the first person would have already been removed from the league.
Support the refs more and retaliate less would be a great help. That way the true evil doers would stick out and we could pick them out.

This is for swan and anybody else that wants to call someone out and point fingers by this person always does this and everytime she does that. There are always 2 sides.
Lets all try to save up some money, get a few acting gigs and go on Jerry Springer.

| It was unfortunate the girl hurt herself so badly, but she had a hairline fracture diagnosed prior to playing in the game and it was determined by the official that she was not struck by another player. Whether or not anyone agrees or likes the call it there decision. Again, this is where personal responsibility comes into effect. If this player cares more about winning then about your personal health, it is understandable how this same player and team would care more about winning then the safety of their oponents. And like several others have commented, this is an aggressive sport which does permit contact between players, possibly resulting in injury if one is not careful. Now, to say that a player needs to be ejected from a game because she PLAYS aggressively is ludacris when no one raises alarm at the players who repeatedly instigate FIGHTS and ALTERCATIONS. That is behavior that is intolerable by any means and those are the players who need to be ejected from the league.
