| If the season ended today, the 8 teams that will not make the playoffs are MAS, School, Harding, Kavanagh, Unionville Arms, Village Grocer, Griffith and Kelsey. 4 of the 8 were in last year. What a difference a year makes.

| With the USPL season getting into full swing, it is time to ponder exactly where all 18 teams are headed. Sure, for some clubs reaching the playoffs round is a hefty accomplishment, particularly if they haven't qualified in many years. However, anything short a Sunday afternoon appearance does not adequately fit the payoff for months of hitting and fielding drills and those four or five games that they should have won. A championship round appearance is fine, but if it represents the limit of a team's progress -- especially on multiple occasions -- they become the basis of a discussion about being good but not good enough. The team that are saying "Our expectations are to win the championship,” are Remax, Complete Plumbing, Travel Lovers, Flakeboard, Harding and Wild Wing. Other teams are saying. "Realistically, we think we may have a shot at it,” are Crupi, Jakes, MAS, Kelsey’s, Angus, DST and Blacksmith Bistro. The rest of the teams are Griffith, Village Grocer, Unionville Arms and Kavanagh are deciding which players to draft next year.

| Five good games on Monday June 23. All potential Championship round games come September.
Harding @ Angus Glen Remax @ The School DST Output @ Bistro Wild Wing @ Travel Lovers Kelsey's @ Crupi
But with Kelsey's playing Crupi, odds are 3-2 that the game will be rained out.

| Gimmie, my predications on the games you suggested are.
Harding @ Angus Glen a blowout for Harding Remax @ The School School will be back with a win DST Output @ Bistro a close one, but Bistro wins in the last inning Wild Wing @ Travel Lovers Wings demolish the Lovers Kelsey's @ Crupi - boring, I would like watching Arms and Village

3rd rain out in a row against Kelseys...if this keeps up, we should have 10 games completed by end of July

| The way Remax was playing earlier in the season, I thought they could run the table. But now that I know they're human, I don't know what to predict. But rather than take the easy route and say Plumber again, I am going to call a Harding sweep based on the runs they're putting up.

| I don't know about their stats. But Remax is the most overhyped team I ever played against. Dave is a great guy and a very good player. Most of the guys seem pretty cool, but they will be gone by the first round of the playoffs. Average in the field, sub par hitting, but they get a few lucky bounces. Not a whole lot of talent on that squad. The short stop does have the nicest legs though.

| I can't believe that you are calling out Remax without justification. Anyone who knows that team knows they have some of the best players in the league and just aren't playing well as a team right now. They will make the playoffs and if you are on a playoff team you better hope they don't start to click. Look at their roster they have some huge bats as well as solid fielders that could play on any other team in the league as well.

| He is a good player in this beer league, that is oorrect, but then you guys make it seem like he is a GOD. I would like to see him play "C" ball, and see how well he does in that calibre level. That would be interesting.I'm not even mentioning B or even A ball, that is an elite status by itself. I think the best player in this league would probably be one of the worst players in a legit C level calibre league. Take nothing away from USPL, it's one of the best leagues out there,it's pretty competitve, good ball parks, great people,a lot of characters and of course the ice cold drinks :-)

| Hey StevieMac
I'm a friend of poncho's and some other players in this league and come to watch the games from time to time. I was onlt judging from what I saw compared to some other tournament ball I have seen in Men's D an C. Take nothing away from this league or the players and I know there are some solid standouts my buddy who's post I'm writing in tells me that all the time and he also plays in the Markham league as well. Don't take it personal,I was only saying that some players get more credit than they should and others who should don't get their props. Although I have no idea who you are, and if you say you do play C level ball, thats great.Anyway, I better get off this post, cuz if my boy finds out,he'll kick my a$$. I think I already caused some unnecessary havoc.

| A couple of things.
Hey Poncho, no hiding behind Honey’s skirt. If you want to call someone out, do it either face to face, or on this forum with a name folks can figure out. Here’s one thing for sure… What’s-His-Name from Remax would be the one of the best SS’s in any league that he played, so perhaps you need to see a bit more ball. The Markham league is mediocre at best, so let’s not be comparing apples with oranges. I’ve played with Stevie Mac over the years, and there is no doubt he is the reason that the Plumbers are defending champs, so trust his instincts.
Secondly, for Labtec, the SS from Angus perhaps MIGHT be good, but until he gets a haircut, I reserve judgment.

| OK...I'm sorry, but I have to pipe in here..this is my two cents, which doesn't mean crap...everyone mentioned is a good ball player..Stevie Mac, Jamie, Gayman...but come on now..what about Fraser and Tom Smith? I don't know about you guys, but I've played with both of them, and would pick them in a school yard game, before anybody...Fraser and Tom make minimal erros and bat .800...what more can you ask for. All I know is, if I'm playing at the level of ball that Tom is at his age (which I'm not now)...I'll be very happy ! I think we all need to take a step back, realize we have a good thing here, and be happy we can come together, and be competitive...It's only Ball ! and if we didn't love it, or feel we're better then our standings show it...we wouldn't be reading this damn forum...GO JAYS GO.....Good night !

But I guarantee one thing,… counting CanAm’s, Nationals, Provincials, and local leagues, Gimme has way more rings than Jets6400 could ever dream of having.
And here’s betting that the count for either of us won’t change in 2008 (unless you’re going to count playing in this year’s Conny finals, eh Jetsy?!?).

| based on current records and remaining schedule, I have to say it looks like Remax, Harding,Bisons,DST and Complete Plumbing are good for the championship bracket. Crupilaw has a damn tough schedule...Angus as well. It seems all about positioning now. Top six seems locked. The teams on the edge have pretty tough schedules and would seem unlikely to sweep the rest of the season.
