| I want to thank all of our parents/fans who made the trip to Delta State this weekend. I also want to thank you for the way you conducted yourselves.
For those of you who are new to our program, I hope everyone understands that when we travel (or host a home game), we're representing Florence (as well as the entire Shoals area).
The groups we've had over the past few years have helped establish our organization as being a first class program. It's now the current group's responsibility to carry that reputation forward.
As parents/fans, if you understand the greatest way you can be a positive asset to our team is to encourage our players/coaches, then we will be well ahead of the curve.
By all means, if an umpire flat out blows a call, it's okay to yell at him (umpires know when they miss a call, and they expect to be yelled at when they do so).
However, to continue chirping about a call (or strike zone) over an extended period of time will only hurt our team. I guarantee you our coaches will argue when the time is appropriate, and the umpires will know the coach has to 'argue/question' a call from time to time as part of the coach's responsibility.
So please, everyone do your part in helping to maintain the Florence Post 11's first class reputation which has been built by our predecessors.
